Ok, so I'm probably not doing the whole night but I've got Radio 4 Longwave tuned in so I'm ready!

Seeing as I couldn't do this last night, I'm quite excited, despite the predicament England find themselves in.

I have several packs of Pom Bears at my side, can this get any better?

i'm up for this.

i might go out and buy some sweeties with my last quid before play starts.

Oh, you cunt

I love pom bears. I'll be up all night.

My eyes hurt...again.

I may eat some coffee.

Well...

the first ball wasn't as bad as yesterdays.

What happened?

Hoggard...

is opening the bowling today, simple defensive shot for Ponting.

And he only...

gave away 5 runs!

we are

undisputably on top right now. Anderson is swinging the ball. We will win.

yup.

I think giving Anderson the new ball

is a sign that if he doesn't bowl well today/the rest of the test, Harmison will be dropped.

Cue Harmison bowling fantastically

and then bowling shit until March

Maybe

I think with Harmison now it's more about psychology than talent

If you can't cut it at this level,

however talented you may be, you won't be much use. He has to either sort himself out in the next four days or face a year out at least. When Jones comes back, I don't see much of a future for Harmison.

And Steve Harmison's first ball is a....

Wide. Deja Vu anyone?

And he's just bowled one to Second Slip.

kill him

fuck this, I'm off to watch. See you when I get bored.

Ridiculous

What fucks me off,

and I admit I can't see it, is that his head goes down so easily. Whilst Flintoff really charges in and shows some passion, Harmison gives the impression he's being hard-done-by.

it's not good

like a combination of fear and low self-esteem. He needs nurturing but it really is make or break at the moment.

Bring on KP

Do it.

i want to start a new club.

the 'get back to an era where every international cricket side plays two spinners' club.

anderson shouldn't even be PLAYING and yet he gets the bulk of the overs! shapeless!

Hussey out

Flintoff's third

well, he got 86, and i predicted him 81.

just waiting for ponting 235 and gilchrist 101* now...

Ozzie ozzie ozzie.. .... fuck off

From what I can tell Im the only Australian on this site. We dont drink bear's.. we drink the sweat accumulated from the clothes we wore in the last series mixed with several flasks of goon. Then we start on each other because the English tend to have wise cracks and theres little us caveman can do but bat each other. An we'll see a skirt (usually about a meter away, intoxication from b.o. is like being on bio-chemicals) and we'll forget what a 'sport' is. I dont even like cricket. I like Football. And Im Australian, so everyone thinks Im a pansy coz the sport I like men do Swan Lake poster dives in. At least I don't like dressing up like a sperm while I play sport.

...

looks like i might be here all night

i slept on the floor for 3 hours earlier and now i'm not tired anymore.

BRING BACK THE LAMBS OF GRAHAM YALLOP

BRING THEM BACK

It's lunchtime.

More Pom Bears I think...

Rub it in

:-(

i need some

sustenaince if I'm going to stay up till tea. It's quite fun actually despite the general poor standard of England's play, there's a dedicated Ashes crew in the common room and I've got no lectures tomorrow. Ace.

My university might do this

if it was football or fighting. Or if we had a common room.

do you

not have a TV room in your halls? That sucks :(

Nope

We don't even have a proper functioning postal service. Or an SU bar. It's a shame because somewhere showing the ashes would be a great way to meet other socially-backward people.

I never had one in my halls...

Although we designated someones bedroom as a common room.

I'm loosing all hope.

And Blowers is talking about pies AGAIN.

OMG!!!!!!!

I have a glimmer of hope again!

Hoggard isn't fat and useless after all!

:-O

What a ridiculous thing to say. Go and sit outside.

Sorry...

But he had been appaling before this sensational over.

I wish I could contest that

but I haven't seen it. I've been hearing he's just been getting no swing. And without swing, there's not a lot he can do.

Anderson has been getting a bit of movement...

But yes, this pitch isn't giving much in terms of movement, the pitch is harder and there are cracks which is something for the pace bowlers which Flintoff is expoliting and I wish Harmison could be if he could bowl in a straight line.

Brett Lee could have a lot of fun :-(

ANDERSON YOU BUTTER FINGERED TWAT!!!

It's always off Hoggard

Poor bloke

How long can they keep employing him?

He doesn't even recognise the players anymore.

I think if we actually apply ourselves properly with the bat, this game should be nothing but a draw. I'm far from optimistic, though.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gilchrist is out as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harmison has a wicket.

Let's hope that's the kick up the arse he needs now.

I NEED BED

I've been up for over 22 hours, my body is giving up, I have enjoyed this a lot and shall be doing another late night cricketfest I think tommorow night.

Goodnight all (well only Pigfoot will read this so Good night Pigfoot)

Goodnight

22 hours is fuck all btw. I regularly kiss the 50 mark. Quitter!

In fairness, I do nothing in that time, so energy conservation and all that...

i'm off to bed too

there's only about 7 people left in the common room, and some are showing early signs of sleep-deprivation induced insanity.

Hoggard was looking quite good for a bit there. My prediction of 546 all out might be right on the mark.

You're all such quitters

If I could watch this, I would be doing so every minute.

It's finally over

The bastards had to declare, didn't they? I hope we get 403 just to piss them off.

Strauss gone

:-(

Nooooooooo

Two in two.

Well

This is depressing

I missed the evening session...

...can someone run through the early capitulation for me wicket by wicket?

Sadly, based on CricInfo

But they looked bright then Strauss hooked a skier for no reason and whilst the catch involved Brett Lee being stamped on, he recovered. Next ball, Cook edged to the slips. They sent out Colly (KP not the man you want to face a hat-trick ball, really). He then edged behind trying to play to the leg-side. Clark bowled very well, apparently.
