obviously it would be fairer if they didn't tinker with it and just went on what the votes are. But at the end of the day they still have to be represented by whatever they put on at the festival, and we know they are very strongly opinionated about music anyway. Public voting doesn't necessarily mean quality, in most polls I see, but then I hope the ATP crowd would be smarter musically. In a way I hope ATP does use its disgression if needed.
So does anyone know where this vote tally page is yet? do we need to log in to get to or it... or will it be on the main page...? I'll just check back later. its not THAT important really is it.

can't really see arcade fire either, unless it happens to correspond with their touring plans, or they feel a need to premiere the new stuff at ATP...

arcade fire have only toured the UK once, and that was 3 dates (they did some festivals too in the summer, that don't count though)
and why won't they play, they've played loads of small fests in Canada similair to ATP.
Lets face it, if ATP can convince Slint to reform then I'm sure they can get Arcade Fire to play!

So it seems that people just won't give up on the Pavement front, they're up 4 places and take this weeks top spot. The confirmation of Modest Mouse and Apples in Stereo, along with the DENIAL from Arcade 'we're far too successful now to play your little festival' Fire has shifted Bjork up two places. She now stands at number 2 and SURELY they've got to ask her now? Personally I think there's about as much chance of Bjork playing as there is of Eliott Smith playing but we'll see.
Anyway, on with the rundown...
This week's surprise success story is Interpol, who climb a massive twenty-four places to number 3 in our chart; there have been no Interpol-related news stories over the past couple of weeks so this huge climb seems a little inexplicable. Maybe only twenty people bought tickets this week and they all love Interpol? I saw Interpol once, they were pretty out of tune and lacked the punch and mood of their recorded output. And their second album is a stinker with the worst lyrics I'd ever heard that side of the new Bloc Party album.
The Shins and Mogwai also take huge, bounding leaps up the chart this week, despite The Shins having curated one of the days last year, and Mogwai having played ATP approximately 29 times before. In another inexplicable bout of apparent stupidity, Joanna Newsom, despite having been confirmed for weekend one has actually risen up the voting list and now stands at number 13. Holy wasted votes!
It would also seem that after their tour announcement and new album leak, people have remembered the existence of post-rock dullards Explosions In The Sky; they stand quietly and inoffensively at number 14.
It also seems that the crack pipe has been passed liberally through the indie-rock community this week, shown by the appearance of Radiohead and Hot Chip on our list, and the rise of Tom Waits, despite the the huge likelihood that he would never, ever, ever, ever play at Butlins. He's reported to be amongst the die-hard Camber Sands fans, and will set up a toy piano on the beach the same weekend if it's not too windy.
That's been your wholly unfunny and probably hugely long chart rundown. I'm Josh, and I have no life.
if people like the more bands that are playing on the second weekend, and can't afford to go to both, and realy want to see joanna newsom they might vote her becuase she's doing the first one anyway.
but i still think that this round of voting seems to be based around a very small number of votes. that would explain interpol, hot chip and radiohead.
at wireless last year, they were terrible....like a rockabilly band!
i agree on the voting though, maybe 500 tix sold so far with another 5000 to go, things are gonna change!
I am about to purchase my tickets to Atp. I am from the US and as wondering if anyone had recommendations of maybe what hostels in London are good and the best way to get to the resort from London via public transportation.
and if there is anyone else from US, where to get a cheap flight from.
I want to see Liars higher and Xiu Xiu.
and maybe Devendra Banhart. MARS VOLTA!
you can get a coach from either the airport or london straight to minehead, and then there's a very cheap travel tavern very close to it, something like £25 per night. i think someone here used it before the xmas atp. so you could arrive and get there ready for opening.
take the train from paddington to taunton, and then get a bus to the conplex.
it's true that there is only 1 bus an hour usually and there were massive queues last time, but give the bus company's helpful attitude on the monday morning, i don't think that will be a problem this time.
So I'm about to buy tickets and currently precisely none of the 10 bands I want are in the top 50. None of the acts are that obscure - stuff like Jens Lekman, Luke Haines, Andrew Bird, New pornos
Will these be wasted votes I should abandon to bolster the campaigns on the bands I like the most in the current top 30?
vote for who you really wanna, not who's top of the pops.
The top 50 is a bit too predictable and mainstream for me anyway. There is still alot of people to vote and we do need some more obscure bands getting picked by us. Even if some of your ideal choices just sneak in the top 50 it might encourage others to vote for them. Plus would you feel happy if you had this one chance and didn't vote for who you REALLY wanted?
I might be being impatient but they're SO SLOW at updating the website and making offers to bands. Also...why haven't Mogwai been asked and we've leapfrogged to Bonnie Prince Billy?
Am very much fingers crossed Interpol play. Anyone reckon on the likelihood they will?
this festival has been advertised for a while now, and its not far till the thing takes place in May. So far the fans have only picked 2 bands, and most of bands being picked are unavailable. Do you think they're getting worried?
I imagine there's a lot of planning and organising involved when putting on any festival.
They seem to be waiting to get answers back from Bjork and Interpol before they put up the next 50. If they do this each time its gonna take ages, waiting on confirmations etc. We know that Bjork and Interpol were at the top of the charts and have been asked. They need to put up the next 50 and get more offers out.
just submitted my top 10
1.animal collective
2.danielson famile
3.melt banana
4.herman dune
5.boredoms
6.lightning bolt
7.comets on fire
8.afrirampo
9.yo la tengo
10.jeffrey lewis
dont reckon anyone of them will play though-bummer!
why it is so unrealistic for bands to consider playing both weekends? Bands have done this in the past for sure, so why would we think they wouldn't do it again?
surely the drop-down list of preferential bands that you suddenly discover after you've bought your tickets is really the problem?
i'm surprised no one here has mentioned it - and those of you complaining about the "unimaginative" nature of the top 50 should surely turn to ATP and blame them for providing a list consisting almost entirely of past ATP bands and giving those votes precedence?
i think every single band now in the top 50 is from the drop-down list and that is because those votes are given priority.
how can ATP berate the voters for voting for the very bands they are forcing us to vote for?
at all. you didnt have to use the drop down list. the problem is that rather than making people really think about who they want to vote for, it gives them loads of ideas that get in the way and they forget anyone who wasn't on the list.
the list isn't just a list of ideas because it clearly states that bands chosen from the list TAKE PRECEDENCE over any bands not chosen from the list. that's how every band in the top 50 is from the list - any other votes can't compete.
and obviously lots of people will also go on and read that and think they'd be wasting a non-list vote so they choose all their bands from the list.
(i think) that they were there just to remind us who had played before and to help inspire us during our choosing? i did vote about 2 months ago though!
The resort has a capacity of less than 6000. Please bear this in mind when making your choices. You can ask for someone like Bob Dylan or The Rolling Stones but they will inevitably be considerably more expensive than the whole line-up put together, thus wasting one of your choices.
We are unable to raise the dead.
Just because a band is at the top of the list does not mean they will play. They have to be available and have to want to do it.
If you put a band that is taking a hiatus or has broken up several years ago, please consider that you might be wasting a vote. You might not be, so you are welcome to take a chance, but an artist has to want to
It was there when i lodged my own votes but wasn't there for another person in our chalet.
I think the message that imperialteen was talking about just meant that if you picked something from the dropdown and typed something in the box next to it it would use the value from the dropdown.
... but why would they make it so that bands in the dropdown were weighted more heavily than bands that you type into the box, and then post in the news section "you are just wasting votes and also bands that have played lots of times before aren't that likely to come back so soon so use your common sense and make this exciting"? that makes FAR less sense to me.
when voting i was definately under the impression that unless you used the provided drop-down menu, then you were basically wasting a vote... as it stated clearly that bands on the menu would take precedence.. or at least thats the way understood it.
..as the bigger acts confirm whether or not they're playing. We're starting to see smaller acts appearing at the bottom of the 50 now eg 65dos. Just hope the updates are a bit more regular from now on.
We have just been informed PJ is not available as she is finsihing her new record and won't be playing shows til much later in the year. We have reached out to Mogwai and Aphex and are waiting to hear...........
to worry about the line up...so far only shellac and do make say excite me and the top 50, the unavailable ones aside, is just really bland...Jumpin Jaks it is!!
Instead of my foolish and misguided Low vote. I = dumb. Mind you, that list is evaporating pretty quickly. Might even get Most Serene Republic on there before too long!
would be the greatest event in the history of mankind. if Daniel has his much mooted party then i want to reserve DJ time in his chalet with uberAWK rockouts.
I wish i'd waited until this week to vote. Was going to vote for Ghostface but thought i was being unrealistic, and didn't vote Mountain Goats because I'm seeing them in March. Please don't tell me you voted for Villalobos....
none of the old shoegaze bands i'd wanna see will reform anyway - they all hate each other. and the ones that dont hate each other ive chatted to about reforming and they've said it wont happen.
my list was this:
1 Ulrich Schnauss
2 Hammock
3 Asobi Seksu
4 Air Formation
5 M83
6 Snowden
7 I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness
8 Amusement Parks On Fire
9 Mew
10 Sigur Ros
None of which i'd imagine will happen. Some of those are cos I like seeing them live, and others cos it would be nice for them to be there and get a chalet as well so we can all hang out.
Underworld
Gang Gang Dance
Daft Punk
Asobi Seksu
The Wrens
Jackson and His Computer Band
My Morning Jacket
Ghostface Killah
Wolf Parade
Delia Gonzalez & Gavin Russom
wasted two of your votes there? There are already offers out to Bjork and Mogwai so what is the point in voting for them??!! And do we really want Lightning Bolt again? They've only played about 100 times already.
I'm heartened, however, by the fact that they invited Fantomas to play even though they do not feature in the top 50. They must know that all this democracy shit isn't the makings of a good festival. Now, invite NEUROSIS!! And Man or Astroman and all the other of mine that don't feature in the top 50. And fingers crossed once again that Interpol say no.
and as for lightning bolt.. ive seen them a couple of times and ok, point taken, they have played loads before but i just think theyre such a great live act. sorry.
from
now on i mean. god i cant type today.
anyway, tomorrow the first tally of the votes goes up! EXCITING!
Yeah the votes are announced
please be good. I'm a bit apprehensive about it. Surely ATP wouldn't approach any mainstream shite even if they were riding high in the votes??
I would like to know...
How much influence our votes really have, I mean does some head ATP guy go "Not a fan of this Shins crap, off the list with them"?
Yeah, its difficult to tell,
obviously it would be fairer if they didn't tinker with it and just went on what the votes are. But at the end of the day they still have to be represented by whatever they put on at the festival, and we know they are very strongly opinionated about music anyway. Public voting doesn't necessarily mean quality, in most polls I see, but then I hope the ATP crowd would be smarter musically. In a way I hope ATP does use its disgression if needed.
i have faith in the good people of atp
please let this faith be rewarded, my lord god deity jehovah
the same people go to atp just because it's atp
therefore atp type bands will be voted
I voted yesterday :-)
I was a little peeved that Sufjan was a no-no as he was top of my vote list
he tours a lot anyway mate
no doubt you'll get to see him soon
you failed your task
what you think you are doing?
:-(
you better!!!
wooo
So does anyone know where this vote tally page is yet? do we need to log in to get to or it... or will it be on the main page...? I'll just check back later. its not THAT important really is it.
no
not at all
NOT AT ALL
*dribbles down front*
i have to admit
i'm quite intrigued. I expect it will be quite varied though. I'm hoping some of my votes come up more than once!
deadline for voting?
i think i read it somewhere but ive forgotten.
dunno
argh!
i checked every 10 minutes all day at work, got home and still nothing.
*taps feet impatiently*
dont think its gonna happen tonight
unless they have some sort of system to automatically do it at midnight? i expect they're out snorting coke off of calvin johnsons bum or something anyway
I thought...
I better bump this or Jaime might throw a strop again. ;-D
Still no sign of any vote results.
I note they have booked Shellac
but they make it sound like this is prior to counting votes. So anyone who voted for Shellac didn't really need to use that vote?
Dunno, just seems weird if they're booking bands on their own then everyone should be trying to vote for bands ATP don't normally book, yeah?
yeh its a bit odd
that they're still picking half the bill. maybe they should refund you a vote if you voted for someone that they're adding to the bill anyway?
Why not just annouce who they're fishing for?
Well obviously, I guess they can't really do that but at least how about a list of a few? Oh well, probably doesn't matter.
their site is going funny!
they might be announcing sooooon!
votes up..i hope this copies ok

why do people vote for arcade fire?
it's not as if they hardly ever tour.
i would love to see the apples in stereo , sonic youth and daniel johnston though.
otherwise...meh.
pretty predictable really
cant believe Tom Waits is so low
Lightning Bolt better play
and tour england around that time, same with Le Tigre, Flaming Lips and The shins.
all of which have toured in the last 18 months
le tigre
split up innit. so have loadddds of bands on that list.
:-)
Almost all of mine and my friends picks are in the top 50
That balances out the fact...
that not many of mine are. ATP better pick some nice surprise bands for their half.
well
5 of mine made the top 50. hm. I'm glad apples in stereo are so high up. shame about shellac taking up a spot...!
woooohoooooooo
i think that this will shape up to be reallly fun. i've never been to one, but i'm pretty sure i'll be attending this one.
i'd really like to see liars, but some of these are looking real good.
modest mouse play london only like 3 or 4 days after so just go to that if they don't play ATP
looks good

actually
arcade fire played before that tour. they've been over 3 times.
you'd hope it

les savy fav need to be higher
and where in gods name is turbonegro, jon spencer, scout niblett and the earlies?
and well
sonic youth are sitting pretty at the moment.
Does anyone really think
Sonic Youth will play ATP after having just curated their own, and having headlined ATP in the UK twice before?
On 6Music Kim said they are supposed to be coming over to Europe during the summer for some anniversary gigs.
so where
is this supposed update then?!?
pahpahpahpahrump
Its gonna get a bit ridiculous
if they're gonna make us wait ages each time.

jamie, you're in luck

the votes for joanna newsom were hardly wasted were they?
I don't think everyone can afford to go to both weekends...
que?
.....
if people like the more bands that are playing on the second weekend, and can't afford to go to both, and realy want to see joanna newsom they might vote her becuase she's doing the first one anyway.
or something.
yeah, i thought that's what you meant
she won't play both weekends.
the impression i got
was that they had only approached the 'top 3'.....
does anyone beleive that pavement is actually going to happen ??
and graham coxon? hot chip? eels? WTF!!
hey
they would be fun. damn all the serious wanky folk, i would LOVE it if eels played, and hot chip would be ace too.
have you ever
considered v festival ?
or maybe party in the park ?
only kiddin... just think that atp should offer something a little different, thats all.
ever considered
kissing my ASSSS?
you should. its hott.
don't get me wrong
i like hot chip. but given their current success i'm sure i could easily see them soon anyway. eels on the other hand, i'd love to see at atp!
yes. i'd love eels.
but i still think that this round of voting seems to be based around a very small number of votes. that would explain interpol, hot chip and radiohead.

it's true that there is only 1 bus an hour usually and there were massive queues last time, but give the bus company's helpful attitude on the monday morning, i don't think that will be a problem this time.
Voting tactics
So I'm about to buy tickets and currently precisely none of the 10 bands I want are in the top 50. None of the acts are that obscure - stuff like Jens Lekman, Luke Haines, Andrew Bird, New pornos
Will these be wasted votes I should abandon to bolster the campaigns on the bands I like the most in the current top 30?
Hmmmmm?
I would say
vote for who you really wanna, not who's top of the pops.
I've made my votes
if anyone is interested. Feel free to comment:
Halo Benders
Godspeed You Black Emperor
Chavez
The Coctails
Sigur Ros
Liars
Tortoise
Boards of Canada
A Silver Mt Zion
Big Business
Go votes go!
if only
everybody voted like that...
if only
3 of those are on my list.
good list though.
What
exactly is everyones point in voting Godspeed You Black Emperor? They are not active and have not been for sometime.
because
they havent split up.
Yeah
they haven't split. For me its definately worth one of my votes coz I'm so desperate to see them.
Bands do reform at ATP occasionally, GYBE could be persuaded if the fans voted for them.
Here's hoping anyway.
don't hope
They are kind of busy with Silver Mt zion, it's pretty unlikely they will reform, it's a wasted vote.
See above
I'm happy to risk it. Thanks anyway.
So slow
I might be being impatient but they're SO SLOW at updating the website and making offers to bands. Also...why haven't Mogwai been asked and we've leapfrogged to Bonnie Prince Billy?
Am very much fingers crossed Interpol play. Anyone reckon on the likelihood they will?
i was wondering why they haven't updated,
it's not as if loads of people are/have been on holiday in the past week or two. pretty inexplicable really.
Sigh
I'm talking right from the start, not just over xmas. Last time they said they were going to update the site it was days before they did
Offer out
for Interpol :(
why the sad face?
maybe they're too mainstream?
either that, or he/she has seen them live before.
JUST VOTED!
Tim Hecker
Why?
Isis
Neurosis
Fantomasmelvinsbigband
Boris
Man or Astroman?
Enon
The Bug
Red Sparrowes
with tv showing nothing but Seinfeld.
Good choice
with Man or Astroman. I'd love to see them. They still going?
they
are technically split up but they reformed for the Touch and Go gig and some other gigs recently so thought it was worth a shot!
Interpol have confirmed for SXSW
in March, so maybe they will accept the offer to play ATP3.
hope
not
100th post
on this thread. nothing major but i got my tickets. siked.
i need to get tickets
i need to get money first :(
I had a dream
that Paris Hilton played this, last night.
That would be ace
I may vote
my credit card has now
been hammered for £1000, so i guess that means I'm going...
Nah
it means my phishing scam finally works. I'm taking this baby to Mexico!
the shins
and bonnie prince billy unavailable...
no godspeed either !!
theyre on a break..
bjork better confirm !
Gutted
I really wanted The Shins to play :-(
sounds like
they are getting pissed off with the shit unimaginative voting that has been going on. Ha! That'll teach them to give people choice!
I think thats what you call
a rant (from Barry Hogan)!
surely its up to them
to pick the obscure stuff and up to the fans to pick what they want to see the most (which they have?)
Well
this festival has been advertised for a while now, and its not far till the thing takes place in May. So far the fans have only picked 2 bands, and most of bands being picked are unavailable. Do you think they're getting worried?
well maybe
they should hurry up with sending out offers? why not ask about 25 of the bands at once and just reveal their acceptances slowly?
They definately need to hurry things up
I imagine there's a lot of planning and organising involved when putting on any festival.
They seem to be waiting to get answers back from Bjork and Interpol before they put up the next 50. If they do this each time its gonna take ages, waiting on confirmations etc. We know that Bjork and Interpol were at the top of the charts and have been asked. They need to put up the next 50 and get more offers out.
fuck that was hard
just submitted my top 10
1.animal collective
2.danielson famile
3.melt banana
4.herman dune
5.boredoms
6.lightning bolt
7.comets on fire
8.afrirampo
9.yo la tengo
10.jeffrey lewis
dont reckon anyone of them will play though-bummer!
great choices though
...
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/page/news/Modest_Mouse_Shellac_Books_Join_FanCurated_ATP
I'm also wondering
why it is so unrealistic for bands to consider playing both weekends? Bands have done this in the past for sure, so why would we think they wouldn't do it again?
only a week in it in the past?
English bands? Fair enough Lightning Bolt did to weekends i think but consequitive weekends. These are 3 or 4 weeks apart now.
how come no one has mentioned the drop-down list?
surely the drop-down list of preferential bands that you suddenly discover after you've bought your tickets is really the problem?
i'm surprised no one here has mentioned it - and those of you complaining about the "unimaginative" nature of the top 50 should surely turn to ATP and blame them for providing a list consisting almost entirely of past ATP bands and giving those votes precedence?
i think every single band now in the top 50 is from the drop-down list and that is because those votes are given priority.
how can ATP berate the voters for voting for the very bands they are forcing us to vote for?
they're not forcing us
at all. you didnt have to use the drop down list. the problem is that rather than making people really think about who they want to vote for, it gives them loads of ideas that get in the way and they forget anyone who wasn't on the list.
Votes submitted
Tom Waits
Animal Collective
Final Fantasy
Jeff Mangum
Wolf Parade
Liars
Casiotone
Most Serene Republic
Islands
Archie Bronson Outfit
they are forcing us
the list isn't just a list of ideas because it clearly states that bands chosen from the list TAKE PRECEDENCE over any bands not chosen from the list. that's how every band in the top 50 is from the list - any other votes can't compete.
and obviously lots of people will also go on and read that and think they'd be wasting a non-list vote so they choose all their bands from the list.
i dont remember reading that
are you sure it doesnt just say that the bands on the list are more likely to get in due to being the sort of bands that have played before?
I remember reading
(i think) that they were there just to remind us who had played before and to help inspire us during our choosing? i did vote about 2 months ago though!
yeh i'm sure they said that
i cant check cos i'm at work
couldn't find anything saying bands on the list take precedence.
registered this morning and read this:
Some things to keep in mind.
You might not be, so you are welcome to take a chance, but an artist has to want to
You cannot vote for the same band twice.
You cannot vote twice.
The drop down is gone.
It was there when i lodged my own votes but wasn't there for another person in our chalet.
I think the message that imperialteen was talking about just meant that if you picked something from the dropdown and typed something in the box next to it it would use the value from the dropdown.
but
why would anyone do that?
I dunno...
... but why would they make it so that bands in the dropdown were weighted more heavily than bands that you type into the box, and then post in the news section "you are just wasting votes and also bands that have played lots of times before aren't that likely to come back so soon so use your common sense and make this exciting"? that makes FAR less sense to me.
oh
i think i misread what you said. sorry. why would anyone put stuff in both boxes. uhh... no idea.
drop-down menu
when voting i was definately under the impression that unless you used the provided drop-down menu, then you were basically wasting a vote... as it stated clearly that bands on the menu would take precedence.. or at least thats the way understood it.
lol
i wonder if someone from ATP is watching us? seems awfully coincidental, unless one of us emailed them? check the news section.
also i notice
offers out to:
* Aphex Twin
* Explosions in the Sky
* Mogwai
spooky !
were being watched...
would love to see all of those three confirm. excellent news!!
and an updated voting list too!
still no polvo in the top 50 though, not that it'd matter cos they broke up years ago. :(
yeah..
nice to see animal collective and BOC moving up there... still looks a bit tame tho...
So close...
to Sigur Ros, they gotta ask them. They would be awesome at ATP and you know it.
Fantomas..
not available. I considered them as a choice....
still some crazy stuff up there though
what do you think the chances of tom waits playing are? or radiohead for that matter?
it's going to get interesting...
..as the bigger acts confirm whether or not they're playing. We're starting to see smaller acts appearing at the bottom of the 50 now eg 65dos. Just hope the updates are a bit more regular from now on.
still
not having to vote for built to spill saved me a vote i would've thought i'd be wasting!
why no offer for PJ Harvey
is she's #1?
I voted
for Fantomasmelvins :-(
they must have been approached by ATP...
they weren't in the top 50 were they? Also G!YBE are still placed at no.8....
i voted
for Andrew WK.
NOW WHERE ON EARTH IS HIS OFFER TO PLAY???
all you folks who have yet to vote - please vote for him - a bit of rock comedy would go well with the crazy golf and pizza hut dinners
i did too!
Saw him at Reading
a few years ago after having a 4 pack for breakfast. It was genius.
Oh god...
please not that old arsehat.
Nice to see us all getting megaexcited about ATP, despiteit being over 4 months away!
Yeah
he's more of a Reading act I'd say but that breakfast + his performance = hilarious.
This was added to by the sight of hundreds of bottles being thrown at him during the whole of his set. It made him even crazier.
i think
he totally turned the crowd over to his side, they were loving it after a few songs. such a good gig!
Vote
Ghostface Killah. Everyone.
offer now out
to PJ Harvey.
denied
We have just been informed PJ is not available as she is finsihing her new record and won't be playing shows til much later in the year. We have reached out to Mogwai and Aphex and are waiting to hear...........
i'm starting
to worry about the line up...so far only shellac and do make say excite me and the top 50, the unavailable ones aside, is just really bland...Jumpin Jaks it is!!
There's a long way to go yet
loads more offers and votes. I still have faith.
I've just voted:
Iron & Wine
Final Fantasy
Death Cab For Cutie
Eels
Cursive
The Most Serene Republic
Band of Horses
Low
The National
Mew
I would have voted for Bjork, but she's doing well enough anyway and I really can't see it happening.
low are playing the first weekend.
i voted for none of those
I really really really really
really really really want Interpol :(
me too
*prays*
I just hope I can go
I still ant to get a 2 person, but funds are locked up. I'm nervous. I see a couple ticket options are sold out. oh golly.
The pound is so much better than this stupid US dollar. damn US.
It would be ace if Interpol confirmed.
Keeping my fingers crossed for wolf parade though - number 40 now!
I should have voted for Wolf Parade
Instead of my foolish and misguided Low vote. I = dumb. Mind you, that list is evaporating pretty quickly. Might even get Most Serene Republic on there before too long!
I voted Wolf Parade and Most Serene Republic
I will be very happy if they get offers and confirm.
i voted:
battles, broken social scene, fugazi, les savy fav, tv on the radio, trail of dead, locust, the national, make believe, andrew wk.
most of these are a waste of a vote, but how could i not vote AWK?
AWK vs The Fans
would be the greatest event in the history of mankind. if Daniel has his much mooted party then i want to reserve DJ time in his chalet with uberAWK rockouts.
can anybody who hasn't yet voted please vote for the mountain goats?
go on
Yes
I haven't voted yet and I'll vote for the Mountain Goats. Now we just have to persuade about 50 other people to do the same thing.
if anyone is still looking to get a chalet
or is looking to fill a space give me a pm
otherwise i'll just have to get a wee room :(
as in a toilet?
if needs be
I've just voted for
Black Dice
Animal Collective
Mastodon
Tom Waits
Wilco
Liars
Ghostface Killah
Les Savy Fav
Mt.Eerie/The Microphones
Califone
If even 3 of those play I will be ecstatic.
I'm voting for Ghostace too.
There HAS to
be some hip hop. There's a bit too much painfully average indie in the current top 50.
DAMN
I've just realised that I should have voted for Ninja High School aswell, they would be the BEST festival band to see.
VOTE NINJA HIGH SCHOOL PEOPLE!
Shit,
I wish i'd waited until this week to vote. Was going to vote for Ghostface but thought i was being unrealistic, and didn't vote Mountain Goats because I'm seeing them in March. Please don't tell me you voted for Villalobos....
yay
i just booked a chalet.
time to think about voting i guess!
Go on
vote:
Moose!
Andrew Wk!
Drop Nineteens! (Original line-up!)
hahah
none of the old shoegaze bands i'd wanna see will reform anyway - they all hate each other. and the ones that dont hate each other ive chatted to about reforming and they've said it wont happen.
my list was this:
1 Ulrich Schnauss
2 Hammock
3 Asobi Seksu
4 Air Formation
5 M83
6 Snowden
7 I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness
8 Amusement Parks On Fire
9 Mew
10 Sigur Ros
None of which i'd imagine will happen. Some of those are cos I like seeing them live, and others cos it would be nice for them to be there and get a chalet as well so we can all hang out.
Ooh!
Asobi Seksu, I'm voting for them. Thanks for reminding me.
well
its a lazy way for me to try and get em over! fucked if im paying for flights to get em to play ac30 hehehe.
Can you not get Slowdive to reform?
nope
3 of them are up for it, but 2 of them aint.
there's two of us
can we fill in?
hahaha
d'you look good in a dress?
Do I look good in a dress?!
I'll email the photos over...
Does anyone think it'd be
worth voting for Daft Punk?
They played a couple of festivals last year.
good idea
they were ace at coachella last year.
Worth a shot
-
I've voted.
Went for:
Underworld
Gang Gang Dance
Daft Punk
Asobi Seksu
The Wrens
Jackson and His Computer Band
My Morning Jacket
Ghostface Killah
Wolf Parade
Delia Gonzalez & Gavin Russom
good voting...
cant wait to see GGD next week..
it's been cancelled.
Unless you're talking about the Brooklyn show.
fuck!
any idea why?
no word yet.
That's why we have to get them to ATP!
absolutely gutted !
have voted already...
missed them at the lumi in august coz of reading... argh!
oh well..
They were amazing at the Luminaire.
That's probably not what you wanted to hear, is it?
i hate you
sorry
who did you vote for then?
thats ok.. erm
voted for....
bjork
black dice
wolf parade
animal collective
aphex twin
autechre
mogwai
joanna newsom
madlib
lightning bolt
it was so hard....
Good list
I would have voted for a couple of them but they're already quite high up the list so they'll probably get offers anyway.
haven't you
wasted two of your votes there? There are already offers out to Bjork and Mogwai so what is the point in voting for them??!! And do we really want Lightning Bolt again? They've only played about 100 times already.
I'm heartened, however, by the fact that they invited Fantomas to play even though they do not feature in the top 50. They must know that all this democracy shit isn't the makings of a good festival. Now, invite NEUROSIS!! And Man or Astroman and all the other of mine that don't feature in the top 50. And fingers crossed once again that Interpol say no.
Martynx
he may have sent his votes off a while ago
hang on
sorry, you voted already, a while ago I presume, so please ignore the first three lines of my post.
X
yeah...
i voted straight away...
and as for lightning bolt.. ive seen them a couple of times and ok, point taken, they have played loads before but i just think theyre such a great live act. sorry.
totally agree with you on interpol.
