1. Cry Me a River by JT, Survivor by Destiny's Child and Red Blooded Woman by Kylie all have the same intro.

2. You can rap Betty Boo's Where Are You Baby? over the top of Groove Is In The Heart...

3. Rapper's Delight, Another One Bites the Dust and Rock Your Body by JT (a second offence) all have the same bassline, give or take.

Bloody ridiculous.

Jeff Buckley- Grace/Coldplay- Shiver

Adamski- Killer/Lostprophets- Burn Burn

Strokes- Automatic Stop/Razorlight- Stumble and fall (just for the chords at the beginning)

Rival Schools- World Invitational/Yourcodenameis:milo- Iron Chef (completely nicks a lyric)

+ millions of others...

whenever i listen to the intro to the black keys '10am automatic' it always reminds of the soul classic 'don't leave me this way'.

U2 vertigo and Sonic Youth Dirty Boots, so blatant that the youth should sue,
also anything by the libertines sounds to my ears like the housemartins, only drunk.

The Black Velvet's new track steals from old foo Fighters.

Recent Boxer Rebellion track steals from a track on Coldplay's Parachute's, tho I can't think which one.

Both these bug me lots since they're on the Amp a fair bit.

Ok i need to get this of my chest, Lostprophets "Burn Burn" just stole the intro to Far's "Mother Mary" has anyone else noticed this? everyone i speak to has only heard one of the tracks. I need Validation!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't that the same song that also ripped off Killer by Adamski?

Fight Test by the Flaming Lips rips off Father & Son by Cat Stevens, he took them to court and now they pay royalties to him.

The Strangers sued Elastica for ripping off no more heroes, didn't they?

The Libertines sound like the only ones.

And Vertigo (U2) sounds like 'you keep me hanging on' - the supremes.

Coldplay do a kind of mixture of ripping here ripping there, but one thing I have noticed they particularly rip is a lovely mellow guitar wallow (dont know else how to describe it) from the Cocteau twins

The intro to US Vertigo is chord for chord the same as some other song I can't remember whith the lyrics 'Come in come in come in' over the top!

The riff from Last Resort was originally thrown away by Iron Maiden in the middle-eight of Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter...

"Five are here to get down" has the same music as Joan Jet "I love Rock 'n Roll" and I'm always thoroughly disappointed when five comes on...every time dammit!

Interpol 'Slow Hands' is quite obviously a rip of Franz's 'Take Me Out'.
I Predict a Riot by the Kaiser Chiefs sounds like every Clash song.
Jet's songs are all from other songs.

I doubt Interpol ripped off Franz considering they probably both recorded their albums around the same time or at least Interpol wouldn't have had time to hear and totally rip off Take me out before Antics came out! Speaking of which I'm listening to it right now, fantastic album :D

are you crazy? Interpol have been playing that song live for the past 2 years. if anyone is ripping someone off, Franz Ferdinand is ripping off Interpol! and those two songs don't even sound alike.

Razorlights new one, although actually not really sounding like it always makes me want to sing that song that goes "hey you beside the dance floor what do you cry for...lalala" I think that is probably just me though.

There is also a song by No Doubt where the start really sounds like 4 non-blondes, What's Up?.

Oasis' Hindu Times blatantly steals the riff from one of the songs off the first Stereophonics album - think it might be Same Size Feet.

Just to add weight to the earlier comments about Franz/Interpol. Franz have admitted being big fans of the 'pol on many occasions and if anyone is ripping anyone off its the scotsman pillaging from the new yorkians, not vice versa.

Vertigo by U2 does sound like about 50 other songs but especially the guitar riff which bizarely seems stolen from a song on the second feeder album.
the riff is identical.
quite funny really.
Girls aloud released a song a few months ago that had the same pre chorus melody as wonderwall, darts of pleasure's by franz's verse melody sounds like a cooper temple clause song, and every busted chorus is based around one of two musical templates....
