other than, you know, someone elbowed you in the face or stepped on your toe really hard.
Me: Damien Jurado @ Luminaire last night. Brilliant.

Clinic at ATP?
Are you sure....Well unless you mean tears of boredom. :P
Yes
boredom + frustration + disappointment + anger + sadness all rolled into one set yet somehow carrying on every time I put on their records as well.
i think mystery jets at union chapel
few weeks ago?
dunno.
slayer
the other day
65daysofstatic
@ ULu in march.
the first few songs. and the end. just perfection. drove through ghosts + radio protector = best start and end to a gig ever?
Possibly My life Story
back in May. Possibly. I can't remember.
fennesz at the ICA
last and only time.
so far
Never
although Redhouse Painters at the Underworld in 1995 brought me close
You lucky bastard
Oceansize
supporting Fightstar.
I found Ornament/The Last Wrongs pretty overwhelming.
Raz paparazzied me.

I don't think I've ever cried at a gig
I must be dead inside or something.
Me neither. I've never cried at a song either
*poke*
*poke poke*
Noooo! Stay away from the light colonel_k!!
bf
Michael J Sheehy and the hired mourners- 12 bar I think.
He has a great song about a boxer who does one last fight and is too proud to take a dive. Heartbreaking
where is he now?
what is Michael J Sheeney up to these days? I heard he had started a new band.. I often see him in my neighbourhood, i might stop him and ask next time..'when i die, i die' another tearjerker!
bf
He's gigging quite a lot at the moment...got a new album out in march or something, just did a session on resonance
My bird is doing bvs for him at the moment. Please don't come and beat me up...I was trying to be constructive about yer mates amps...;)
If i'd gone to see sleater kinneys tour before they broke up
I probably would have.
Apparently people cry at Dashboard Confessional gigs
Sounds like some massive homosexual Christian gathering to me
kings of leon
every single time.... all the way through... i can't help it..
aww
they're not that bad, shirley?
They are
and...
and...keep...
and keep calling him...
i
i cry cos i love them
....
lots and lots and lots...
I cried...
when the arcade fir played 'Haiti' at Reading.
God I'm a pussy.
thats weird....
...the only time I got close to crying was during "Haiti", the first time that they played Amsterdam.
the only time i've been lucky enough to do that
was when Radiohead played Cardiff in 2003, i can't remember what song, though it might have been where i end and you begin i think
Only once as far as I can remember
Arcade Fire. The impact of them singing their hearts out that way was very intense. I was there with someone I had just split up with though in pretty horrid circumstances after a 2 year relationship so we both cracked up a little.
Catharsis, is the word.
radiohead
playing F.P.T @ the civic hall wolverhampton...
just lost the plot, and then again at V when they played a new one i didnt even know!
god i am a pussy
arcade fire-kings college
like a girl
never
i'm too butch for that girly shit
I cry often
at gigs, but it's been a while. The last time was probably at the end of the Pixies set at Benicassim this year. I was with all my best friends, life seemed to be going great and here were the Pixies playing Gigantic. I full on broke down.
That said, I came fucking close during Anthems For A Seventeen Year Old Girl when Broken Social Scene played Reading this year.
.
LMAO @ whole thread.
me, too.
GIRLZ ARE GHEY.
Ryan Adams.
fuckin pussies
Yeah.
My Latest Novel in March
I have a vague memory of giving the singer a hug afterwards and then wandering off with him looking confused.
tom waits at hammersmith
and flaming lips at astoria just before yoshimi came out. both through sheer joyness.
Never
but then I've never cried at a lot of things. Births, marriages, deaths.
i don't
think I've ever properly cried at a gig but the last time my eyes got a bit damp was probably when Soco Amaretto Lime at the Brand New gig in September. I remember feeling pretty emotional at various points in the Wrens gig at the Borderline last year too.
The only time I cried
was when I saw Morrissey, but it had nothing to do with him, more with me being completely messed up. Still sort of beautiful though... hmmmmm
Explosions In The Sky Glasgow/Edinburgh last year.
never have.
never will.
Dirty pretty Things
because i met carl barat.
NOT A WORD!!!!
i cryed
a few tears of disbelief when i saw the enemy's set supporting the futureheads. When did it get this bad?
you arent
on the dpt forums are you? theres someone with cashew in thier name too
uh
broken social scene. i suck. :(
Radiohead
Glastonbury 2003.
uh never.
srsly.
when i saw
jimmy eat world.
i cried like a new born.
it was probably the most inspirational sound my ears will ever hear.
everything else is shit
for me it would be...
...Ryan Adams at Bridgewater Hall in February.
I leaked the odd tear throughout the gig, but I properly blubbed during 'Sweet Lil' Gal'.
closest ive ever got was at sufjan in manchester this year.
not so much tears as just a huge fuck off grin on my face that i was watching one of my idols play a faultless set of faultless music. got pretty close during casimir pulaski day- heartbreaking.
Everytime
The Go! Team play 'Hold Yr Terror Close' live, i shed a little tear. For my dead homies, mind.
I would've cried when I saw Morrissey
the other night during William, It Was Really Nothing if I wasn't so dehydrated. Got a bit overwhelmed during Untitled 8 at Sigur Ros too. Emotional!
the first time
i saw belle and sebastian, when they played sleep the clock around, brought tears to my eyes. special times. i got emotional in an excited way for the shins and sonic youth but not like crying crying.
Last time?
Sufjan at the Barbican when he played Casimir Pulaski Day. I became an emotional wreck
Before that it was Ryan Adams
muse!
all the times i've seen them! i'm a driveling mess!
...
and i'll probably cry when i see io echo next week. because i cry to her cd. hmm... i'm sure i could think of more
not proper
just the sting of tears and possibly a wet cheek at Sufjan Stevens a few weeks ago. i suck.
last time i proper massive cried at a gig
was Futureheads at truck
tv on the radio
dirty whirlwind, glasgow a couple of months ago. they opened with it and, somewhat unlike the studio version, built from quiet to an overwhelming intensity by the end
Damien Rice
at the toucan club cardiff feb 2003...cover of hallelujah jeff buckley.i was wailing uncontrollably by the end.
!
Saul Williams. Last year's ATP. Accapella outro to Shakespear.
Grandaddy
Anson Rooms, Bristol, 2001. They ended with an epic "so you'll aim toward the sky", their backdrop filled up with a badly drawn spaceship flying through some stars and the drink, the occasion, the about to be dumped mrs all got to me.
Shameful really.
Only once:
when I first saw Sonic Youth play Teenage Riot. Inevitable, really.
it IS amazing
when you see legendary bands play legendary songs that you never ever thought you'd even dream of hearing live.
(you're still a baby though)
NEVER!!!!!!!!
I have had "something in my eye" a few times though.
Chris de burgh?
<sniff>
she's dancing with ME!!
I actually do have something in my eye now. I'm feeling emotionally frail.
the last two times
radiohead at the apollo
and
richard hawley at the barfly
actually thinking about it i do it alot
last time i cried..
probably last time I made some poor lifestyle decisions and saw anykind of music with some anthemic chorus..
At the Opera, Madam Butterfly at the E&O
I was so moved. Not really a 'gig' but fuck, I have never had music move through me quite so emotionally.
what the crap is the E&O
do you mean the ENO, as in the English National Opera?
or is E&O a budget competitior to P&O and you were on a low-rent cruise around the north sea shipping channel, with Madame Butterfly as the on-ship entertainment?
?

Option B please
sorry, it was a typo. Option 1 actually.
It was
TV on the Radio at ULU earlier this year when they played Ambulance. Those lyrics...
.
rufus wainwright at v festival put a couple of lumps in my throat, and bizarely Lily Allen did too.
umm i think i was on my male period that day
Tiger Force
at the 93 Feet East all dayer a couple of months ago. Just an emotional reaction to really enjoying them.
Regina Spektor
at V Festival was bizarrely emotional, but I don't think I've ever gone so far as to cry at a song. I'm usually just really happy.
Not quite a gig...
But they did a special version of We Will Rock You (the musical, not the song) for Freddies 60th birthday and right at the end Roger Taylor and Brian May came out and did a couple of songs. Brian May singing "Love Of My Life" set me right off
Other than that....Foo Fighters, Hyde Park, "Tie Your Mother Down"....with again, appearances from Mr May and Taylor
Its basically the pair of them that just sets me off!
Never
