For some reason i ended up watching Independence Day last night, yes I know the story is god awful but I was bored.
My point though is I remember the special effects being really amazing but this time round it looked really bad.
Are there any old films out there that you loved but on recent viewing have left you disappointed.
a friend put Clerks on a few weeks ago
and i just didn't find it funny, wheras i used to think it was one of the funniest things ever.
have
you seen Clerks II? I was physically sick. It was so cringy. Keven Smith has lost it.
No I avoided it
-seemed like the sensible thing to do.
Very
wise :-)
Footloose
I had such fond memories of it; it really isn't a great film though I have noted watching it more recently.
Birth of a Nation -DW Griffith
I can't understand any of it these days without witty assides from a Jewish raccoon played by Whoopi Goldberg.
I have Scrooged on the list
of films i want to watch this christmas but i don't know if i can bring myself to do it.
DO IT!
it's still good.
it's got Bill Murray in it for gods sake
how can it be disappointing?!
Yea i know
I would hate to be dissaponted by it though.
However the possibility of a fave Bill Murray Fil thread is an intresting one.
*sniggers knowingly*
i said sniggers
racist.
The Lost Boys
Breakfast Club
Many more 80's films. utter shite
shite
can be good.
Police Academy
I don't wanna watch Labyrinthe ever again for this reason
My childhood memories must remain unspoiled!
back to the future 3
I think I always used to pretend it was ace because I loved the first two so much.
It is pretty poor really.
but if features zz top
and so cant possibly be poor
you remind me of the babe
(this could be hard to do at work)
what babe?
the babe with the power
what power?
the power of voodoo
power of voodoo
STOP IT
boooo
see
you ruined it
Labyrinthe is still quality.
I've said this before
But HOW can someone not like The Lost Boys.
Rock n Roll Vampires!!!!
I've seen Independence Day enough times to not be disapointed with it....
I watched
Terminator 2 this morning for the first time in years and expected it to have aged horribly. IT HASN'T, IT'S STILL AMAZING.
How could anyone say The Breakfast Club?!
Its amazing, especially when they smoke a doobie and Andy (the jock) starts doing cartwheels and stuff. Its the funniest thing ever! Who can be arsed to do cartwheels after a smoke?! The Lost Boys is still a classic too. 80's films are the best.
I concur with The Terminator comments, fucking amazing films.
Generally
If I liked something before I will still like it noe.
My tastes expand to INCLUDE new stuff, rather than REPLACE old stuff.
The Amazing Mr Blunden
great as a kid cacka now
Jacobs Ladder
- spooky the first time, daft the second
However Oliver! The Musical was on SUnday and never fails to disappoint.
Flight of the Navigator
I used to love it.
Then I watched it last year and realised that nothing really happens. It's rubbish!
Both
Lost In Translation and Trainspotting I loved when I saw them in the cinema but when I watched them at home alone they both left me cold. Especially LiT.
most kevin smith films
in fact i think chasing amy is the only one i can bother myself to watch all the way through these days.
