but you're a fan of/summat to do with 586, so you and i would mostly be singing from the same hymn sheet anyway, as 586 are the most awesome thing evah.
the irony is in the fact that their indie kids taking the piss out of indie kids in their lyrics, they dont take the piss out of grime, in fact i think they do it pretty well!
that everything people who are perceived to be 'indie/trendy kids' do is somehow 'ironic' - as if no-one on the indie scene can possibly have passion or emotion without adding some kind of superficial or jokey layer to it.
seen a few bands within the last few weeks on a similar 'scene' and its all been a bit too jokey, but i think hadouken have a bit of aggression in them, i mean theyre not just utter pisstakes
i would agree with what you're saying. to a certain extent they seemed to mean what they were saying, which makes them more appealing to me than someone like bolt action five... i didn't really like bolt action five when i listened to it just now.
i do like both, but for different reasons. BAF make me dance and sing about Knightmare! so yeah theyre jokers, but il let em off for danceability
all in all i dont really like grime/'new bloody rave'/or whatever in general anyway, i just keep feeling compelled to post in threads about these bands!
i hate reviews and reviewers that bang on about genre alllllllll the time, or, like the NME, consistently use and abuse tags they've made up. all it does is create a situation where the reviewer is showcasing their own knowledge of music to the detriment of the uninformed reader, rather than actually enabling the reader to take away any *valuable* information about the release.
Yes
I love them.
I always play their remix/duet thing of Plan B's "No More Eatin'".
joke:
'whats ryu out of streetfighter 2 favourite english dish?'
punchline: Hadouk-en chips!
what does he poo after he's eaten it?
tatsu-maki-senPOO-kyaku!
Oh dear Oh dear
I thought it was pronounced hai-ouk-en. God know how many years I have been saying the wrong thing!
i thought it was

it's definitely that d that's the bone of contention.

They're ok. I always put 'that boy/that girl' on before a night out.
good band
great live too
gosh
people seem a bit more positive towards them now. first time i mentioned them here they got slated.
yeh,
but you're a fan of/summat to do with 586, so you and i would mostly be singing from the same hymn sheet anyway, as 586 are the most awesome thing evah.
they have
about nothing in common though, apart from perhaps the cheap-sounding keyboard.
Argh, they'are awful!
Their frontman rips off JME in a big way. Except his lyrics are terrible. Seriously, SO FUCKING TERRIBLE I WANT TO STRIKE HIM.
Fucking ANNOYING. Go listen to something GOOD.
they're not very polished, granted
and he spends a lot of time cramming words into lines that aren't big enough for them.
but
'went to a gig but nobody danced. everybody was far too cool. all the kiddies, they just stood there. is it the same at the public school?'
is a decent lyric, for me.
10/10 for metronomy, by the way.
I really really dislike them
To me they're a couple of trendy kids ripping of Grime in a vaugley ironic way, which is somewhat offensive.
I agree 100%
They make me angry.
doesn't seem ironic to me
it seems like they're genuinely passionate about it. oh well.
They were rubbish
when I saw them.
i think
the irony is in the fact that their indie kids taking the piss out of indie kids in their lyrics, they dont take the piss out of grime, in fact i think they do it pretty well!
i also think there's this dangerous assumption going around
that everything people who are perceived to be 'indie/trendy kids' do is somehow 'ironic' - as if no-one on the indie scene can possibly have passion or emotion without adding some kind of superficial or jokey layer to it.
it strikes me as a bit odd.
yeah know what u mean
seen a few bands within the last few weeks on a similar 'scene' and its all been a bit too jokey, but i think hadouken have a bit of aggression in them, i mean theyre not just utter pisstakes
yes.

glowsticks.

blah blahblah blah blah etc.
*is is the state of the public school?
</pedantic>
in reply to deadcats quoting lyrics
i mean.
*is it
argh.
I'm sorry but that lyric sucks
Hadouken! = mildly irritating.
agree.
I really love their tunes. Especially the remix of Bloc Party's "The Prayer". I find their idea of remixing rock music with electronic one amazing. :)
sheer
ACENESS.
Someone over the age of 17 acknowledges this band?
STOP BLOODY JOKING AROUND!
This thread was made on my birthday.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAdouken more like
They're the musical equivalent of
Jeremy Kyle.
Entertainment made by a horrible kind of person, for a horrible kind of person.
