Thamesbeat tykes, The Bridge Gang, offer up this second single, Blue Sky Grey: a happy-sad pop song about love, life and the weather.

And it’s pleasant enough in boy-girl rough-edged harmony way. MUCH more exciting, though, is B-side 'The Money Will Roll Right In', a fabulous, rumbling heartfelt slice of dirty, dirty, rock and roll. The thundering riff growls ominously like the theme from Bad-Batman, the handclaps sound suspiciously like face slaps and the screeched, fabulously fatuous lyrics have more than a hint of Mclusky desperation about them.

Top stuff. More of this, please.

hmm

The money will roll right in is a great song but you seem to neglect to mention the fact that it's a cover of a Fang song. plus it's been covered both by the likes Mudhoney and Nirvana many moons ago as well. Mclusky desperation? The song was written nearly 20 years before they'd even formed.

Yeah and also

This was a limited edition 7 inch in September! Hence NME reviewing it back then! Great single though.

the mudhoney cover

is skill.

The Bridge Gang are

Highly lovable. Second fantastic single. Bring on London Sky Tonight and the money will roll right in.

Indeed

London Sky Tonight is finally released at the end of this month, on 7" with Sarah's Brother on the B-side. You can get pre-orders on the Sounds Experience website.

it's

a great single yes, and a real grower, but yeah, wasn't it released ages ago? Anyway, look out for their next single out in 2007 on Sounds Experience.
