I know it's only Christmas Eve, but I can't help being nosey...

Best presents I've got so far:

Tortoise - Millions Now Living Will Never Die
Complete Father Ted (maybe the best present ever)

Anybody get any cool stuff? Or rubbish for that matter?

You lucky bitch. I just spent the last hour and a half restringing and setting up my Tele. A new one would have done just as well. But I bet the intonation on mine is better than yours now. Ha!

You'd be wrong, my friend. I spent a fair whack having my Tele set up as well, bluddy marvellous if I do say so myself

ps:- I got it a a couple of weeks ago because i was demoing in the studio, y'see...

it sounds LOVELY! - and I bought an MT-2 to go with it.

Still, vintage Tele's rock!

Spending money, various vouchers, lovely brown antiquey leather boots that I wanted, lots of different coloured tights and a pretty scarf.

On the music front, I got the Rough Trade Indie-Pop and Post-Punk compilations, and also Bearsuit, Fiery Furnaces and Clayhill albums. Should be geting some more tomorrow when more family visit.

I also got The Best of New Order, a small blue dream catcher, a long purple skirt which is velvety stuff/cottony stuff, The Complete Book of Dragons, a beautiful purple lavender candle, a hot water bottle with a furry cover and a little elephant toy, two black jumpers, 2 t-shirts (one green, one purple), a purple top, a bread recipe book, a metre of plain silk and some chocolate. Plus bits and pieces.

and

a chocolate car with my name on it (not car sized, about the size of a size four shoe). I dont even really like chocolate. Grrrrr.

Fuck me...that's a lot of stuff. For some reason people always give me book tokens rather than HMV ones, which then means I have to go buy the cheapest book I can find in Waterstones so they'll give me WS vouchers as change which I can then pop round the corner and use in HMV. Oh, I'm so devious...

Apart a stiff neck and back from sleeping on my brothers floor (family home)I got cds by oxes, clogs, interpol and boredoms. And a biography of kafka.
Now I'l have a delightful afternoon with my step mothers family!!

i also got the Father Ted Box Set! i can finally watch the episode i constantly miss! the one on the plane! yes!

and i got a The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads cd, a couple of books, and a Sumo Wrestling calendar all the way from my brother in Japan.

in fact it was all good this year, tho i doubt i'll use the Eau De Toilette. the Hankies however, will be most usefull!

We don't celebrate xmas in my household and never have. it has no importance whatsoever to me but I still get presents from the rest of my family, usually money though.

i leave a big list on my wall before christmas which says in big shiney writing "ALBUMS THAT I WOULD LIKE" then it comes to christmas and people give me matching sets of hats/gloves/scarves and say "we thought about buying you a cd but we didnt know what you wanted"

i never got any cds either because my parents say cds are a waste of money. i still haven't got over that. :O :O :O.

i happened to mention to my mom that i loved leopardskin and she went kerrrazy! i got leopardskin slippers, tights, scarf, gloves and handbag.

i am the bet lynch of sarf london! :)

Not one single CD this year, I couldnt think of any I wanted that I hadn't already had...although sitting here, the re-issue of Holy Bible has just popped in to my head....dammit! Oh, and the obligatory major hangover from Xmas Eve festivities. I started at 11.30am, and pint after pint, cant remember how I got home! Fucking battered..Happy New Year everyone.x

this one exactly - except i spent £50 getting it set up to my exact playing requirements, plus I bought a Biffy-esque MT-2 pedal to go with it.

Nothing beats my Tele. Fucking rocks.

What were the modifications you had done ?

They are undoubtabley great guitars. I really like my old Squier tele, maple fretboard also. A strat playing friend sold me it, neck too wide for him, he called it a Fender Gibson.

I've got a nice 1975 Ibanez flying v. Most playable neck on my guitars is probably on the Epiphone flying v, never seen another one like it, smaller body than normal, pointy headstock, nonlocking trem.

Have a nice 20 year old limited edition Japanese Squier strat, also very nice, single humbucker and volume, Floyd Rose.
