best opening three songs

Not often does an album open with three great songs...in every 'London Calling' there's often a 'Jimmy Jazz'

However, there must be more than these:

Godless/Muhammed/Nietzche (Tales from Urban Bohemia)
Angel/Risingson/Teardrop (Mezzanine)
Debaser/Tame/Wave of Mutilation (Doolittle)

Running Up That Hill

The Big Sky
Hounds Of Love

^This

also Lycanthropy:
Prelude/Wolf Song/Bloodbeat

Xiu Xiu are really good with openers, Knife Play and Fabulous Muscles are the ones that stick out most.

ooh

mistakes and regrets/totally natural/blight takes all - Trail of Dead (Madonna)

^^

this

make that the first 4

PDA is amazing.

I would actually push it to six

with Say Hello... and Hands Away, that first side (on LP) is perfect

Ah Mezzanine

Love it, love it. It's like the ultimate "come home after a big night out and smoke" music.

Not that they are the best, but on the Strokes first impressions of earth album, the first 3 songs are so much better than the rest of the album, it's almost unfairly deceptive!

Also

sue me for being predictable but
Airbag>Paranoid Android>Subterranian Homesick Alien

Kissing The Lipless / Mine's Not A High Horse / So Says I

Oooh

bamos is cussing the Crows. Go Team Counting Crows!

I actually like a few of their songs

It's the same part of me that likes Tunnel Of Love by Dire Straits.

So are you part of this 'team' then?

Me and Bob need to know so wo know how many asses we gotta kick.

I see.

I have been known to enjoy the odd listen to Recovering The Satellites. If that makes me a square, then I guess I'm a square.

Actually, using the term 'square' makes me a square too.

I can't win this battle. Kick away.

go team counting crows!

I'm in the first album only division.

They're surprising popular on here

I thought they'd be held in the same 'regard' as Nickleback or something but, no, Team CC has a fair few members (including me).

Is that Cunting Crows?

There's a busker at Euston who keeps playing Mr Jones. One day I am just going to snap his guitar in half.

Salt Sweat Sugar/A Praise Chorus/The Middle

I do like that shout though. In fact, I very rarely get any further through that album after those three.
