i waent shoe shopping today, looking to replace my fake converse (£8 and lasted me the best part of a year before literally falling apart) with another pair of fake converse (i'd just feel dirty wearing the "real thing"). i stumbled, in a hardly revelatory fashion, upon dunlop green flashes and now have my heart set on them (the shop i went to didnt have them in my size).
now, as converse are owned by nike, its easy to find them in shops that stock nike.
does anyone know who owns dunlop that i may find them easier?
also: how many pairs of shoes do YOU have? why? how do you choose which ones you wear?
i have only one or two pairs, one for walking and t'other for dancing without falling over. but both have big holes in.

i do go on, dont i?

Yay...shoes! I think Topman sell Green Flashes, as do USC. Other than that, places like Sole Trader etc probably stock them as well.

Currently I only own two pairs of shoes; a pretty boring pair of blue Converse and my lovely Zara zip-up boots. I'm looking for a pair of Converse in pink and, like yourself, I'm lusting after some Green Flashes. Not that I'm materialistic...

i saw a pear of white and green dunlop that i wanted but like they didn't have my size and when i tryed to get the vans i wanted (black and red) they had just sold the last in my size to some girl : l
i have about 30 pears of shoes and they all suck.

i love my old converse. they're not that old, but they're old enough to be nearing the end of their lifespan, and crying out for replacement. they don't get worn much anymore these days. can't bring myself to buy another pair though, the whole nike thing.

i have cowboy boots. i am oblivious to the whole 'cowboy boots are for scenesters' thing. i don't care. they're great. i bought them [and a plain black pair that got me sturdily through this year's rainy reading with nice dry feet] in a western store when i went on holiday a while back. they are like nothing i have ever worn. [i hate shoe shopping, because shoes hurt.] they are beautifully made. they are the comfiest thing i have EVER put on my feet. they are warm. they stand up to rain and snow [which is more than i can say for my chucks.] they look good with falling-apart-mens-jeans or posh dresses. i can wear them to work or go dancing in them. i can walk for days in them. and they are green. i wear them every single day. I WILL NEVER LET THEM GO. so there.

man. i have started waxing lyrical about shoes. i should go to bed.

I've got those Vans that are black and white checked with the Vans strip across them. The look like converse' but are Vans and i love them and I love the way I can play imaginary chess on them in chemistry...I'm on the look out for some more shoes though, dont want converse or anything that eveyrone else has, but want something that isnt too far from the skate spectrum, comfertable skate soes that dont look like their owned by any 12 year old linkin park fan who always has a skate board tucked under their arm, any help enyone?

May I suggest Airwalk? Always been a firm favourite of mine.

I have a pair of Vans that I've had since 16. I'm now 27. Sure, my shoe size has increased however the shoes are that battered that they seem to have grown with me. Roaches and my Vans are the only things that will survive nuclear war.....

Their anti-nike politiking may be a wee bit OTT but the basic concept behind their manufacture is on the button. And they're really comfy!!!!

I wear Clarks shoes. My footwear is so uncool it's cool again. Maybe.

i have a pair of green flashes and they are the nicest, comfiest, coolest trainers in the world ever! i got mine in schuh, but i also saw them in topshop. mine were £30 but with student discount only £27. bloody bargain! there are some pairs they do for £25 tho, but everyone has them so i got the diffenent ones that have velcro rather than laces. there navy and white. i love them. sorry i'm waffling but i'm trying to eat a really nice sarnie too and that takes up quite a lot of my concentration!

i've got...

red slip on vans
black jack purcells (so much cooler than chucks)
camo fake converse
and brand new tartan blanket material shoes that i got from tk maxx...best shoe shop ever.

i was going to get blue adidas superstars because they looked like run dmc ones, but then i saw the tartan ones, and blue isn't very run dmc-ish. they were cool though.

I usually buy the real converse. I've had a navy blue pair for 2 years now. I love them. I have Dunlop green flashes but they ain't too sturdy and fall apart easy.

I have a lot of shoes I'm like a girl. I love my plain black converse. No white on them at all.

Trainers - I wear classic/retro trainers but I like K-Swiss and Etnies/Vans.

Boots are my favourite footwear, Faith has the nicest ones on the high street and I'll stick to black because you can wear it with anything though I do have some brown cowboy boots.

Don't see the point in platforms/wedges or Uggs.

I had some Green Flash about 5 years ago... before they were cool in any sense of the word, when I was a 14 year old kid who used them when I went running. Funny how things change, most people wouldn't have been seen dead wearing green flash out a few years ago!

I have absolutely no idea what a converse looks like. Green flashes were pretty muc compulsory at school when I was about 12 though.

shoes are the best. i love dunlops and converse equally but has anyone else ever checked out Macbeth shoes. there not that big here but u can buy them online abd in obscure little shops. their so comfy and made for musicians. wat could be better! buy macbeths! ps vans shoes are also da bomb!

Budget shoes rock - got the Vans that I am currently wearing for £9 a few months ago. Have worn them almost every day since.
About four years ago I got some black All Stars for £15. They lasted until Reading 2004, when they died.
Still wear a pair of Etnies that I've had for two years (sole's wearing out, but that aside they're fine) and some white Globes that're even older, even though they're split to shit. None were too expensive.

I need to check the sales, NOW...
