States the festival's website:

"We are delighted to announce that the first ever curators of the ATP Festival, Mogwai, are confirmed to play on Friday 18th May 2007.

Cor blimey, these are pretty dang good, NO? Are you attending either, or both? DiS hopes to be there - do come over and pick us up from the floor, where we've no doubt fallen over drunk on three-for-£10 wine from the on-site shop. The red, go with the red. The white's awful.

ATP's website is 'ere. Check it for more information! On bands, not wine.

Mogwai :D

Mogwai Mogwai Mogwai :D :D :D

i now hate the fact that i'm not going to ATP vs the fans

i think i will actually cry for a while, then kill my "frineds" for being big gays and not confirming on time

i sympathise entirely.

that having been said, mogwais live act is just a bunch of fat guys in adidas tops making white noise. yet somehow it is amazing.

can you remove this news please

it's making me feel very very sngry every time i see it

I am creaming myself

At the thought of weekend one. I cant wait

Pieces...

...please don't kill me.

I've been to ATP once before...

...for The Mars Volta weekend. I didn't think a line-up could be as good as that one. Until I bought a ticket for Weekend One and have seen it go from strength to strength.

The self absorbed part of me obviously likes to believe that I'm responsible for it all.

The moment I bought my

weekend 1 tickets I was over the moon knowing I was gonna catch Nick Cave, ASMZ, Low and Papa M.

but then EITS and Mogwai agree to play the fans weekend and I feel like I could actually cry.

No way I can make both weekends.

Gutted.

Well i heard

that the new site is slightly less accommodating, without a central meeting point and only small stages/rooms which means lots of queueing and not seeing bands. Ja oder nein?

rubbish

new venue is ace.
people whining on. plenty of places to meet. rooms are the same size. just more people. a bit of forward planning is needed. so just go early to see who u want and accept that times change.

yep, rubbish

It's very accommodating and the chalets are ace. Plenty of meeting points too, just decide where you're going to meet and stick to it! The rooms aren't smaller either, there's just more people (3,000 capacity?) so there were a few problems with queueing and some folks not getting into the main room at times. OK, the main room at Camber can just about take the 2,000 capacity crowd, but there've been loads of times when the downstairs room was packed out and people couldn't get in.

i can't believe the amount of whinging there was in december - there was bound to be some problems with it being the first ATP at Butlins. Anyone (who'd been previously at least) should have expected that and i'm sure the ATP crew will have this all sorted for April and May.

Sorry if I sound narked off, it's just that I fucking love ATP so will defend it at every opportunity!

Can't wait for April, and May! :-)

Ady

i so want to see shellac again

such a great band.
*sigh*

my brothers going to this. grrr
i want to go

Whatever....

Kill two birds with one stone.

Come to Primavera Sound instead. They have amazing line ups and this year ATP are CURATING a stage for the WHOLE 3 day festival!! GET IN.

Slint, Low, Pelican, Modest Mouse, Comets on Fire, Isis, The Melvins, Dirty Three,Grizzly Bear...etc!

And thats just on ONE of the many stages. PLUS its only = 85 Euros.
And of course its near the beach in Barcelona. Oh yes its gonna be a good one.

Second weekend

fuck me, i smell a post birthday post rock piss up.

I plan on monging out to mogwai and fucking loving it

Heehee...

I have tickets to the second weekend (ended up getting them by mistake thinking it was the much desired weekend1...tis a long story) but now Mogwai and Battles have confirmed i'm fucking well happy...now all i have to do now is just bankrupt myself and see if i can go to the first weekend too! I can't miss out on Cat, Nick and Josh et al!

P.S. diver you're right, that red wine was FAR better than that cheap white...it was like petrol.

dammit

i hate red wine...
