Channel 4 is to broadcast a documentary on returning Scottish rockers Idlewild later this month.

The new film was shot in the band's rehearsal studios by Blair Young; it features in-depth conversations about the band's new album, Make Another World, which currently has two thumbs up from the DiSopolis. Srsly, it's good, yo.

Anyone pre-ordering the band's forthcoming 'No Emotion' single here can watch the documentary before its screening on February 26. A link will be sent their way following purchase.

'No Emotion' is released on February 26, with the Make Another World album following on March 5; both are released through Sequel.

Idlewild are on tour in March; click here for dates.

Thats cool, I'll be sure to watch it

I agree with DiS on the new album, it certainly is good stuff. My fav song at the moment is Ghost In The Arcade.

i don't like the new album at all

but i want to SO MUCH

I've not heard the new album yet

but I hope it's good. If It Takes You Home raised the bar quite nicely, it's like old-school Idlewild again.

i don't have the heart

i think we all want to like the new album. cos iDLEWiLD are a band so many of us had so much love for. but this is where i draw the line. i can't keep defending them to myself.

the album is weak. half of it sounds like the bsides from remote part (which granted were in the most part better than the album tracks) and the rest of it sounds like orson!

the new single is complete and utter shit. hardly reclaiming past glories. they embarass me :( it's even worse than 'live in a hiding place' and 'i understand it'

only half the album is worth listening

in competition for the worst time
everything as it moves
if it takes you home
you and i are both away
finished it remains

maybe next time

i hate

that i agree with you 100%
average at best.

If you were going to make an idlewild album

Comprising 12 tracks from their last three records, what would the tracks be, and how would it compare to 100BW and Hope?

DiScuss.

I would choose

*In Competition For The Worst Time
*Modern Way of Letting Go
*If It Takes You Home (rocking start to the record)
*Century after Century
*Tell Me Ten Words
*American English
*You Held The World In Your Arms
*(I Am) What I Am Not
*Love Steals Us From Loneliness
*Finished It Remains
*Out Of Routine
*In Remote Part / Scottish Fiction

And it would be about as good as 100BW, slightly weaker due to it being a little bit rubbish in the middle, but not anywhere near Hope.

And if someone posts a really, really killer tracklisting

I will adopt it as their third album and remove the rest from my life.
