ok, not that i trust or condone mtv2 in anyway shape or form until one on a sunday morning but switching over i came across a programme called 'reformed for 2007', featuring bands getting back together this year. the first three songs that came on were Rage Against The Machine, Jesus And Mary Chain and finally My Bloody Valentine. has this been announced and i havent heard, or is this a balls-up?
Would be great
if it did happen but...I wouldn't hold my breath to be honest.
they may
meet down the pub, it may be mentioned but I bet they can't be arsed cos they'd miss Countdown or something
JAMC and
MBV tour? Together?
thatd be AMAZING!!!
AMAZING!!!!
Its probably that they accidentaly left the 'best of shoegaze' tape running when they spliced it in for the JAMC thing.
JAMC + MBV
+ Blur + Dinosaur Jr = my first gig. OH YEAH.
:@
i don't know if that conveyed my exact emotions properly.
The emotion of HATE
Fack.
If they really ere reforming they wouldn't let MTRuttingV know first wuld they?
no
which is why i wondered if i SOMEHOW had missed it
Well
there was this...

Maybe that counts as 'reforming'?
I hope
they don't reform or release a new album. It would doubtless sully the perfection* of their earlier work which exists as a magical nugget of brilliance from the past.
*this doesn't include the first album
Youre not alone

this person thinks so too... whoever they are...
The BBC!!!!

say so!!!! aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!! YAY!
I would cut my own arm off to see MBV
*passes the hacksaw and awaits tickets going on sale*
Darn, beat me to it.
I had a rusty pen knife, it would have been more fun.
heh

Seriously though
this is awesome news, if the beeb is right.
Im sorry....
Does no one care about this at all?
despite the fact its one of the best things to happen in ooooh....ages.
<bumpage>
Nightmare before christmas
curated by My Bloody Valentine anyone?
^goodness
though ive always suspected that kevin sheilds has vengaboys somewhere in his collection.
yes
its like that rumour that aphex twin makes gay disco tracks under different names
What did you think
come to daddy was all about?
incest
will you be down saturday for dis club? lovvers and more. now maybe stus (daves mate, maybe yrs) band too
oooh lovvers
may well go...not much on on saturdays, good timing.
I read...
...some time ago that Shields coudn't use the name My Bloody Valentine as it was wrangled up in legal hoopla with Island over massive amounts of cash owed to them. And if he did, they would basically take every cent they make. Now i don't know if this is the full story or if it has been sorted. Either way, MBV reforming would be somewhere between interesting and awesome.
MBV
i think they'll re-released the early recordings byt the way will 2007 finally be the shogazing revival year?
I hope so, i heard Asobi Seksu finally signed a deal!
That bbc link says theyll be reforming..
i dont want a full on 'shoegaze revival year' especially now Amusement parks on fire are counted as shoegaze (nottingham balsphemy? Yes/no?).
are they still notts based?
aint seen em around for ages. wouldnt mind putting them on actually, their second album is probably the biggest 'grower' album ever
why wouldn't amusement parks on fire be pigeonholed as shoegaze?
they basically are MBV, with a bit of my vitriol.
thats the comparison i drew
just today. its concise.
jordan's right about the 2nd APOF album
thought it was a bit turd at first
probably my favourite album released year now...
maybe not... there was Avast! after all
ho is avast?
do you mean the comets on fire album Avatar?
he does not.

Shoegaze!!!
well i don't know you but i have enough of the punk-gaage revival, the '80s revival and the stupid 'new rave'!
I want a 90s revival form shoegaze to slow core, i want codeine and three mile pilot reunions. Actually i heard that Touch & Go signed three mile pilot for a new album!
!!!
This would either be utterly amazing or utterly awful. I'd really hope for amazing.
but then, they always could be either
The last time I saw them was when they were part of the JAMC Rollercoaster Tour - pure self-indulgence... and yet they could also be sublime.
If JAMC and MBV reuinite and I see them
I will wank off a goat, live on telly
It'll leave Tom Waits and a reformed Dead Kennedys with Jello as basically the only things I need to see before I die left
