A host of new acts have been confirmed for the Hove Festival, taking place this summer in Norway.
DrownedinSound.com is one of the festival’s media partners, and we’ll also be curating a stage at the five-day event, held from June 26-30 in Tromoy. The festival’s website, where more information can be found, is here.

Say the organisers of the festival’s commitment to maintaining the environment it’s set in (pictured, albeit small): "The Hove Festival will be setting new standards for environmental awareness. Not only because we want to preserve the beautiful nature that surrounds the festival, but because we believe that a music festival can be a interesting way to increase environmental awareness, both with our audience and our partners."
Further information will follow in the lead-up to the festival, but for the meantime check out the website for all your Hove Festival needs, and to see BIGGER images of the amazing-looking site.
I thought
This was Hove of 'Brighton and Hove' related fame. Ouch.
this is going to
be awesome.
expensive
damn
im going to a festival in Poland at the same time as this, still £32 for 3 days with Bjork Muse and Beastie Boys on the line up, its a bargin
Not really...
For 5 days of music, and it's pretty much the same price as Reading / Leeds? Considering you get to spend a festival in such nice settings, it's worth the extra cash. Flights are cheaper than most long distance train routes in England. And if you take the ferry you can cheap booze on the way.
you're probably right.
my immediate response to anything which involves scandinavia is 'expensive'.
I'm not clear on the accomodation though - do you camp in tents ala glastonbury/reading/etc, or is it chalets ala ATP? Or both? Extra costs?
camping
there is camping on site at 20£ for 9 days per person and 20£ the tent whatever the size. there is also a boat camp with 500 meters of moorings on site incase you decide to row over the north sea, i hear its nice at this time of year. there are also smal chalets and caravans for hire
so envirnonmental is it?
that its being plugged in the UK? how will one get there without using a plane?
ferry
theres a ferry from newcastle
Me First & The Gimme Gimmes
Rock my fucking world. i'm going just to see them...well and maybe mastadon
dammit
wish this was on the sussex coast. would probably be the most exciting thing to have happenned in hove for a long time.
