GUITAR FOR SALE

I'm currently selling a Fender Telecaster. It's a black, Mexican reissue of the 1972 Custom, made popular by Keith Richards. It's 1 year old and in mint condition, and it has been expensively set up by Graham Noden of Denmark Street so it sounds fantastic. The guitar retails at £550, but I only want £350 for it. Email me if you're interested at ricriggs@yahoo.co.uk. London area.

Re: GUITAR FOR SALE

Mexican Fenders are pretty good.

Re: GUITAR FOR SALE

Yeah, thinking of buying a Mexican Fender, £299 new.

Japanese Fenders are superior and going for £5-600 new

Japanese Fenders retail at just over £300 second hand round here.

Re: GUITAR FOR SALE

i paid 500 for one of the tele custom re-issues, its great, you won't get them any cheaper new, i searched for ages. Its plays to the standard of my flatmates 1970 usa tele.. Japanese fenders are worse than squiers, without a doubt

Re: GUITAR FOR SALE

Sorry, but my Squier Jagmster is inferior to both its Jaguar and Jazzmaster cousins.

So why did I get one?

well, I can't affor £480, and also, Franco from \m/ the velisha \m/ uses one, although his is red, unlike mine which is silver.

check out http://www.velisha.com for Franco pictures...

Re: GUITAR FOR SALE

Japanese Fenders are about as good as US standard models, bar slightley lesser pickups, although, personally, I reckon that is just snobbery. I've heard that Mexican fenders lack workmanship quality, but that is probably also snobbery. There is no way Japanese fenders are a lesser quality than squiers, apart from the old Japanese Squiers (early-mid eighties, and also at various points in the nineties), which are pretty much identical bar the branding on the headstock. In my opinion £350 for a mexican tele custom is a pretty good deal.

Re: GUITAR FOR SALE

Checked today, Mexican Tele Custom retailing for £500 here, £350 not bad.

Japanese Fenders being worse than Squiers is the most illinformed thing I've heard anyone say about guitars in quite a while.

I've got a Japanese Squier strat, mid 80s, custom job, single Seymour Duncan humbucker, just a volume knob, Schaller Floyd Rose and tuners. Looks like a total growler, sounds really sweet. Got a nice Korean Squier tele standard as well, earlyish 90s, also nice.

Re: GUITAR FOR SALE

I bought my USA strat for the colour :-) (it's chrome blue)

Re: GUITAR FOR SALE

I was referring to new japanese fenders..as we were talking about new mexican guitars it makes the comparison valid.

New Japanese Fenders are not as good as the the new Mexican ones, fact. Squiers on the other hand are cheaper than the Japanese equivalents and the build quality is surprisingly high.

But on the other hand any guitar. no matter what make, will play very nicely after 20 years of playing in..

Re: GUITAR FOR SALE

I have a american made 1954 reissue telecaster and after having it for a year I could never be happy with any other electric guitar

Re: GUITAR FOR SALE

I have an Epiphone Les Paul Special from 1997. It's a nice dark sunburst. I'll swap you it for the 54 reissue. Without this guitar, your life will never be complete. I'll throw in one of my custom 'valvesound' plectrums. They're special ones that can be used by either right or left handed people.

I must be mad not trying to get the appropriate amount of money from you as well, to make up the difference. Snap it up before I change my mind.
