Mancunian first wave of baggyrock stylists Northside have announced a set of dates this spring following up last December's successful comeback tour.
Currently writing and recording what could eventually emerge as the band's second LP 'proper' in the not too distant future, the tour calls in at the following venues. If you're lucky, you may even catch the odd DiS writer or two spinning completely out of sync tunes between the bands...
March
24 Nottingham Marcus Garvey Ballroom w/ Censored + Dirty Tux + Drowned-In-Soundsystem DJs
April
6 Brixton Jamm w/ Bez DJ set
8 Barnsley The Lucorum w/ Cuba + aftershow party upstairs til 4am w/ Dermo DJ set
28 Huddersfield Bar 1 Twenty
May
5 Manchester The Ritz w/ Domino Bones + aftershow party w/ Dermo DJ set
24 Stockholm Mosebacke Etablissment w/ DJ Dake
Their recently re-issued debut long player Chicken Rhythms + Extras will be available to buy at the gigs. Alternitively, pick it up online here.
It'll blow ya mind
Do it every time
TAKE 5!
I'd
hardly call their Dec dates successful, when the ULU gig was downgraded to the bar at Islington Academy due to zero ticket sales!
The northern dates
all sold out though well in advance.
I went to see them
in Leeds at the Cockpit. They were fatter than they used to be, but were just as poo.
Certainly won't bother again.
I thought the
Cockpit gig was ace.
Again, Dermo isn't technically a great singer, but the whole event/gathering-type vibe given off by this band live is immense.
