Seriously, why don't people tell me when good bands reform? I couldn't give a monkeys about Pixies or Pumpkins or, um, 5ive... but The Dismemberment Plan?! Come on, kids - keep me in the loop.
The DC-based indie-rockers broke up in 2003, but are getting together for a benefit show for producer J Robbins' unwell son, Callum (click). The four-piece will play The Black Cat, in Washington DC, on April 27 and 28.
Tickets to the show that was announced first - April 28 - sold out in three minutes according to Pitchfork.
Newcomers: The D-Plan are/were Travis Morrison, Eric Axelson, Jason Caddell and Joseph Easley. You should seek out soemthing. I'd recommend Change, released in 2001. But only because I'm playing it now.

...Is Terrified is worth a fairly large look-in too. in fact, they were consistently and thoroughly fantastic. buy it all.

I have
Emergency & I. It's quite nice and all but I can't see what the fuss is about with this band. They sound like a collection of session musos playing expensive equipment in not very interesting songs.

They were great, tight&inventive pop songs!
I recommend change and emergency&i too.
pity no uk shows.-

not the Pitz like i said before, it was Zaks, probaly the only time i've ever ventured into Milton Keynes. I can remember the support band 75% Lip cuz of the foxy bassist

to 'Emergency & I' for the first time in ages, I forgot how ridiculously stunning some of the songs are...especially 'The City', 'Gyroscope' and '8 1/2 Minutes'
