it completly depends what style of music it is, its its hardcore, then then it's understandable, but if it's the likes of The Vines then there's no point at all, its not big or clever. Going shirtless only works if you're in a tiny venue and there's sweat dripping down the walls and it's a legendary evening, as the early libs gigs were supposed to be.

Most annoying people at gigs - people with big hair standing inches from your face, especially when theyre 6'5" and have a camera phone.

people who smoke at shows get on my nerves anyway ... i dunno how many times iv been burnt by someone who doesnt see the problem of waving a cigarette around in a really crowded situation.

People that smoke in a really packed or wild crowd. Next to you. While holding that cigarette dangerously close to your eyeballs.

Yeh, people that talk. Specially during quiet bits/when the band are talking between songs and actually being funny for a change. Specially when the people talking are the support band. I once nearly punched a member of bearsuit for doing that.

there's two types of gig i enjoy -
dirty, loud, smelly, beer covered noise
or
a "trendy" crowd that isn't afraid to dance because everyone gets the point

i hate the indier-than-thou shitbags who act as if you don't deserve to like their band when you don't sing along/play air guitar.

Went to a Godspeed You Black Emperor gig in Manchester once a few years ago, people talked over the support band (the beautiful delicate double-bass led Town & Country), There were a little bubble of us at the front rapt though, like a little bubble, and the band kept smiling at the few that were listening. Then people sang along to the haunting violin parts on GYBE like it was a fucking football chant or something. Twas vexing to say the least.

Ive thought of another type of person.The kind of 15 year old loser (male) who decides to try and look cool by jumping around.trying to mosh......no where near the fucking pit! i was standing to the side of the main crowd for a while at the used the other day and this twat decided to start jumping right next to me.......yes jumping is good..but not when your no where near other jumping people. He just litraully jumped into the air and landed on me.....THAT is annoying. Oh and i totally agree with the annoyingness of people who smoke when your in the pit....cant breathe as it is then your precious little oxygen is replaced by.....smoke. fuckers.
