Scrawny-looking pop-rock quintet The National have announced the release of their fourth studio album.
Entitled Boxer, the release hits shelves on May 21st. It will be their second full-length released through ace label Beggars Banquet. Boxer’s track list looks something like this:

Ever the keen bunch, The National will be heading out on a jaunt through Europe and America in support of the release. The European leg of the tour stops at:
May
22 London Astoria
23 Paris La Maroquinerie
25 Berlin Magnet
Naturally, a single will precede the release of the album. 'Mistaken For Strangers' will be released on CD, download, and vinyl on April 30th.

Alligator
was one of my favourite records of '05, so i have high expectations for this release.
i'm off to the london date :-)
probably the album i'm most looking forward to this year so far :D
I'm excited about this
Wish they were playing more tour dates though.
Alligator is a brilliant album, so high expectations for the new one too.
uk tour
in autumn apparently...
cannot wait for the astoria gig
Yays!
I just re-discovered Alligator again after listening to it once when it came out and filing it away in my computer as nothing special.
Now I've listened to it about two or three times a day for a month. It's amazing. Cannot wait for the new album.
^
I did that when I first got it. Listened to it a couple of times, thought it was avergae, then left it. Then I went back to it and ended up listening to it constantly for months.
When was this tour announced? I completely missed that...
maybe...
i should try that.
These are the guys who did that "Karen" song
Damn that was a fantastic song. Jumped right out of someone's podcast and into heavy rotation in my headphones. I bet he delivers another song just as good on the new record because "Karen" didn't sound like an accident.
You
really really really need to get Alligator, then, because Karen's one of the weakest songs on there.
musically maybe,
but its got some of the most amazing lines
"I'm living in the target's shoes, All I see is black and white and blue"
i just downloaded
alligator and well, its bloody brilliant!
good advice guys
One of the finest albums ever made.
This new one better be good.
