I remember D!D!D! getting great reviews on this site when they first emerged, but have not seen any mention of them in a while. They've just been confirmed as tour support on the Mumm-Ra tour, which is amazing for them.
Do people on here still follow their activities?
hmmm
I forgot about them, glad they're still plugging away - I thought they'd missed the boat..
..
which boat?
they're still plugging away
and play around southampton quite a lot. I'm not really sure if any one cares.
?
Have you heard the new songs on their myspace? They're incredible. They've also got a new drummer, who's also in Kosheen of all bands. Very good he is too.
As for no one caring, i find that a little hard to believe!
the boat left
ages ago. same with fleeing new york. southampton is just a poo whole for getting noticed even if you're half decent.
^
i never did get to hear that second Fleeing New York album :(
i've been trying to follow Dead! Dead! Dead! but when you're not actually in Southampton and seeing them play it's a bit difficult really.
^
i'm also waiting for some new fleeing new york material - the songs on myspace didnt really grab me in the same way 'hollywood bowl' and 'scandinavia' did
last time i saw them
supported by dead dead dead coincidentally, they were a bit like a subpar subways. and i expect thats how record companies would have seen them.
Shame really
as they were going before them. And are better. Well they were anyway, i've not seen them for a couple of years. But in my head they are.
they were yeh
at the start. i kissed my first girlfriend for the first time at one of their shows, at the joiners. awesomely teenage :D
maybe thats why i love that venue so much eh?
Probably
that's quite sweet really. i might have been there. Watching you. Wondering what the hell you were doing.
probably
it was very mega awkward.
i really liked the single
but the album was due early 2005. Uhm...
?
What boat? Noticed by who? I suppose it depends on whether you judge music by what it sounds like rather than what other people tell you to like...
He's got a Mohican hair do
and I met him not so long ago.
Thats all I have to say in the matter.
that wasn't a comment on whether they're good or not
I just mean i don't know if anyone is actually interested in them anymore. They've been 'headed for big things' for a while but haven't really got anywhere. After a while, people lose interest.
Hmmm...
Well, i think a support tour with Mumm-Ra-a band fresh off the NME tour and supporting the Killers- is a step in the right direction. Listen to their new songs, they're great. They're one of the best live bands i've ever seen (better now than ever), which has got to still mean something, whether theyve been on the verge of success for ages or not.
