absolute genius.
i like how there was a big debate taking place in the comments, only for someone to post "your a fuckin douchbag" underneth. summed up the article perfectly.
By the way the only reason it got so many snotty offended replies from emo kids is that some Bright Eyes Fan Livejournal Community or something *snort* linked to the article.
They remind me of neil from the young ones or something.
But, man, you cant tell me my music sucks, cos thats just like subjective man, thats just your opinion, some of us like wallowing in toe-curlingly self-indulgent and fake melodramatic shit, man, dont be a fascist
i don't particularly dislike bright eyes as such. some of his older stuff is quite good, and i do identify with some of the things he is trying to say. however, his latest stuff has yet to be desired in my opinion. it's a bit dry, a bit dull, pretty same old.
the only thing i resent about that entertaining, painfully honest article, was that it slags off saddle creek bands. Rilo kiley are one of the most inspirational bands i have ever listened to. every lyric they come up with is fresh, beautiful and true to them. it is a little unfair to cast the legendary Rilo Kiley into the same category as bright eyes. they are in a totally different league of fantasticness! that article is amazing, thanks so much for bringing it to my attention. I love how angry the writer is I feel releived just for him getting all that out even tho I am a fan of some but not all Bright Eyes stuff. I think he has moments of pure genius and moments of oh-just-shut-up-ness. But that article - wow. Most of the stuff is so true it hurts. Well it hurt me coz I laught so much!
