though i'll pre-empt a load of knobs saying "well, i like it, but i don't like the patronising moral messages at the end of every episode".
they're the genius of scrubs, alright! it would just be a fucking silly benny hill sketch without them. also, you show me one of the messages which hasn't been utterly sound advice. go on.
The charecters annoy me and I hate the overbearing sentimentality of it all. And the moral bit at the end. And there are no ROFL moments just slight laughter ones.
i can honestly say that there's nothing about this show that i don't like. i take the bait enough so that i usually end up crying at the end of each episode, but that might just be because i'm a bit of a girl.
"I want my babyback(babyback)babyback(babyback)babyback(babyback)babyback(babyback)babyback(babyback)babyback(babyback), I want my babyback(babyback)babyback(babyback)babyback(babyback)babyback(babyback)..."
"When... when do they say 'ribs'?!"
"Never. They never say 'ribs'."
I think I can just relate to him more than any other character. Not that I'd ever be anything but a shadow of the man, and I'd never want a job in medicine... but his relationship with Jordan is perfection in my eyes. That episode where they divorced and it was a really happy occasion it didn't seem even slightly farfetched to me. The way he's so sure of himself in everything he does, but really gets at himself as soon as something goes terribly wrong and he feels he's let himself down as well as everyone else. The way he has a strong sense of moral duty even though through his arrogance and apparent selfishness hurts a lot of people who aren't quite 'up to it'. I can relate to his relationship with his sister in terms of his 'rational' beliefs coming into contrast with her religious tendencies, and the way he finally admits to the supposed rationality of his beliefs actually being a choice of faith... and his overelaborate ramblings I think are an obvious trait we share.
Some of his worse characteristics, namely his inability to relate to people on an equal level and his aloofness with regards to most people, aren't problems I suffer TOO greatly now. But it's certainly something I've to be wary of... the narcissism is already there.
The best thing about Scrubs is that the characters are so deep and well-rounded that it's easy to relate to any one of them, especially in the later seasons.
General question: Who do you relate to the most out of everyone in Scrubs?
Yes.
Though my recent distaste for Zach Braff has tainted my enjoyment of it.
That was more than a simple yes or no. I apologise.
reasons for the yes or no are good
I just hate tangents :(
yes
:)
yes.
I do like green wing
better though
!?!?!?
Green Wing really IS shite.
no
sometimes it is funny but it's got smug and dull and most of the characters are boring or annoying especially JD.
^This
i'd say yes
i like it. but braff is too much of a twat and all the 'zany' bits are just too much sometimes
I personally think
that scene with the Polyphonic Spree in it is one of the loveliest tv moments ever
But you're not allowed
to find things lovely Mart. Stop it! Be mean!
:(
WHAT HAVE I CREATED
A thing of beauty.
yes
but i sort of agree with _vikram
Yes
but occasionally the humour just falls flat
and can be kinda cringeworthy.

Yeah. Very much true.
The morals aren't at all what's wrong with the show.
the one today
about looking for miracles or something
Those messages
would be preferable if they weren't delivered in that Braffian self-help-guru tone of voice.
I love that
along with the interior monologues it's what makes scrubs great and not just average. Plus Elliott in a bra.mmmmmmm
Also, while we're at it...
Garden State: really quite lovely.
No
.
^^
Zach Braff shouldn't be allowed work outside of Scrubs.
^^^
You're all silly.
Go listen to The Shins.
They'll save your life, you know.
:<
garden state is one of the worst things ever
its really terrible
Garden State is really good
and what's wrong with the shins...
they are, he has done some great stuff
but garden state is pretty patchy. Generally a poor film.
I swear i'm the only person
ever that really enjoyed this.
I know it's hardly challenging, but it's nice and simple and cute and lovely and you're all silly.
No, my friends rave about it
I think endsville is much better.
nah
i know at least imagechange and a few other names off here who liked it.
that doesnt mean it isnt terrible though.

I watched that the other
night i really enjoyed it even though i didn't expect to!
yes
agreed tis brilliant.
no
no
sometimes.
other times, it's 'zanyness' irritates me intensely.
Yes
i used to love scrubs
until it hit around season 5 and became overbearingly sentimental.
I feel the same way about you
x
why do you want to make me cry, theo?
why?
You see the Season 1 you would have been fine
but now you're overbearingly sentimental it's too easy to make you cry. I wasn't even trying!

S'alright, I suppose

Someone wrote a definitive pros and cons about it...was
quite funny:

i saw it comin
but that didnt stop me
yes...usually
i think that the first two series were the goodest, then it perhaps gets repetitive.
yes
although zach braff gets too 'rubber faced comical' in the later seasons.
the janitor is clearly the best character.
Scrubs =
The Wonder Years older cousin
"It was at that moment I realised..."
etc
Which is why I like it, really.
*years'
Yes.
'Scooter Pie. I hate Scooter Pies.'
No.
you don't like scrubs?!
you're dead to me now
When i first watched it, no. Didn't get it.
Then i loved it, soooo much.
Now, i'm not sure.
:-[
Adore it.
Lots <3
No

And don't get me started on Garden State...
It's no Cardiac Arrest
It's no Surgical Spirit
It's no Shortland Street
It's no Flying Doctors
It's no Casualty
which is actually funnier (well the acccident scenes, anyway).
Yes
when I watch it (which isn't often)
One of the better
American sitcoms, its great at times and okay other times.
its brilliant
so yes
Yes
Seasons 1-4 are brilliant.
Seasons 5-6 not so much.
Elliot: Kevin left. Didn't even say goodbye.
J.D.: Elliot, he didn't say goodbye to a lot of people. Just me, Dr. Cox, Carla, Doug, Snoop Dogg Intern...
Snoop Dogg Intern: Where my hoes at?
J.D.: I haven't seen them.
yes for the scrubs
also: thank you so much for reminding me of this scene. :D
series one and two are genius
three is good
four not so much
five is totally awful and broing.
i don't want to watch anymore.
Yes
YES

the best character is easily the janitor though.
Yes
Janitor is the best, shortly followed by that guy that always tries to commit suicide
HAHA
DR Jan-I-Tour
Also Dr Acula was so good the is a band named after the phrase lol.
I also love it
when JD's brother is in episodes, he is hallarious
i hate that guy
he's sooooooooooooo annoying
Ed!!
He's played by Ed!
Ed Stevens.
Stuckeybowl.
...
Hell yes.
ROFL
The best surreal moment has to be the baloon party as a way to reach out to the foreign lad! I couldnt stop laughing at it!
yes.
more than most things in the world.
Just saw some repeats on PC1
FUCK YEAH!
"There's a phone call for you!"
"...I'll take it later!"
"Your mom's died!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
Ah, man.
I love it.
Even though I hate JD and always have done. :( My favourite character is Dr Cox, BY FAR. I'd probably get on best with Jordan and Carla.
And the best episodes are in season 5. 'My Lunch' never fails to leave me crying like a baby. :(
doctor cox is a dick
best character is the incompetent lawyer
Ted
I agree with this.
Cox rules
I think I can just relate to him more than any other character. General question: Who do you relate to the most out of everyone in Scrubs?
I've never felt like I related
to any of them.
Kelso.
JD
when he makes a really shit joke, and desperately tries to salvage it.
By the way, no one has mentioned that Elliot is HOTT.
Gratuitous bra shots.
:)
I prefer Carla
Not only her face and personality, but in one episode you catch a glimpse of her body as she's getting into bed and it's so hott... I melt.
You make a good point, but....
http://www.dougweb.org/images/blog/SarahChalke.jpg
heather graham wins though
I love him, too.
Actually, while I feel I'm more similar to Cox, I think Kelso makes the better role model by far.
I'm just a bit obsessed with Scrubs, but I know people who are worse... and won't lend me their DVDs. :(
In what way is Kelso
a good role model?
Is it because his wife told him he has left an empty shell of her. So he likes to call her Shelley?
