London-based trio Klaxons have announced that the follow-up to this year's Myths Of The Near Future debut will be "a huge, tribal prog album".
Which sounds rather neat, actually. The band's Simon Taylor said that writing for album number two has already begun, adding:
"We've written the opener of the next album. We're thinking of making a prog album - like a huge tribal prog album. We've all been listening to bands in England like Caravan, so we're definitely going to make a big, prog album."
Klaxons doing prog??
Sounds promising!
really?
honestly?... is interesting really the word?! I would've opted for hideous.
durr
*is promising really the word, rather
prog?
are you sure you want to exit the wizard?
did they say
about a month ago they were going to make an R'n'B album?
say, you don't think they're, y'know, doing loads of coke
and talking shit in interviews?
or perhaps
simply spinning yarns and being sarcastic.
same difference
they should go ska-punk,
seriously.
oh god
can't wait
Caravan...
Bloody hell. I listened to them recently and thought they were dreadful. If it's anything remotely like that, the kids will be trading in their day-glo hoodies for bottle green 3/4 length faux-velvet jackets.
Leave it to Secret Machines gentlemen...
caravan
i think they must've plucked the name out of a prog hat, which I'll eat if their next album sounds anything like caravan
...
If it's going to sound like old shit bands, how can it be prog?
Excellent point
...
...
yeah, and why do so-called Modernists still wear the same style of clothes they did in the sixties??? THE PEOPLE NEED ANSWERS.
In my head
I'm imagining something inbetween Myth Takes and Drum's not Dead. That would be fantastic.
If they're going to do something different
they could try making a rave album this time. :)
do they
REALLY need to release totem on the timeline? Seems faintly ridiculous
Erm
In response to the coke jibe... I always believed it was the Klaxons "talking shit" in the NME- declaring themselves to be nu-rave as a joke- that led to said magazine running with the nu-rave moniker and scene. So it's hardly a new thing for them to do. I guess DiS have bought into what The Klaxons say the new direction will be, in the same was as the NME did?
Totem On The Timeline...
...awful choice of single. I would have said it was one of the weaker tracks on the album. They have some terrific songs but there is a fair ammount of filler on that album too.
I thought that was Kinesis In that picture
But it wasn't.
It was only for about 6 seconds... I had just sneezed for my vision was blury...
havn't Liars already done one of these???
whatever they do, they wont beat it.
allready
waaay ahead of you lot on this one -
