We're looking for someone who enjoys experimenting and can play in different styles. Sonically we range from being gentle and spacious to really quite disruptive. Once we find someone, the band's name will probably change - The Old Switcheroo was my solo name and doesn't necessarily reflect what we are doing now.
It might be better if you have your own transport for gigs - but we do have a basic kit for rehearsals so might be able to work something out. We're all based in East London (Bethnal Green area) and rehearse Monday nights and Saturday days.
Possible models are Elvis Costello and Attractions, The Pogues, Tori Amos, Pavement, Stevie Wonder, Animal Collective and Violent Femmes as well.
There has been some good label and industry interest for these songs and we do live shows and recording - plus we're about to be featured on Icast's 'best of myspace' podcast . The best thing is probably if you go to:
and have a listen.
Both pop hooks and sonic experiments are welcome here!
Get in touch if you like the songs and you think you might be a good fit.
Thanks,
Kieran
