My personal favourite

is Today! - kind of Pet Sounds in chrysalis, great pop songs married with the sound of Brian Wilson discovering orchestration and slightly more intersting themes than surfing and hot rods.

Depend what sort of music you're interested in hearing really, there's so much breadth to their catalogue.

Today!

Summer Days and Summer Nights
Smiley Smile
Wild Honey

the one with "Til I Die" on it

i can't remember the name.

that'll teach me to listen to 6 albums in a row and lose all sense of anything

Surf's Up

Smiley Smile

all the way

Surf's Up/Sunflower

I doubt this will be much more than a fiver and you get some of the greatest Beach Boys songs.

this

I personally think

Friends is quite an underrated album, lovely pastoral pop

Surfs Up

just for "Till I Die" like the others have said.

Superb stuff.

Holland

.

I really like 'Carl and the Passions' and 'Sunflower' both have great true stereo production and amazing Dennis Wilson moments. Seventies Beach Boys is all about Dennis. Check out his solo album 'pacific ocean blue' if you have soulseek or something

just

buy the Good Vibrations boxset cheap on amazon or ebay (got mine for £15). drool over the version of God Only Knows on the bonus disc. And Still I Dream of It is the best brian wilson song ever imo.

No harm

in picking up Brian Wilson's finally-completed version of Smile, either.
