Are you out of your mind? You LIKE derivative pastiche like Jet and Kings of Leon (OK, I can see that KoL are enjoyable and that guy has a cool voice, but Jet?!?!?).

I agree with you that the Ordinary Boys, Libertines and Razorlight are poor... but Bloc Party and the Futureheads are a delight as far as I'm concerned.

Let's think about this for a second. By stating that the Futureheads are Morrisey worshippers you really do reveal your ignorance. can you explain to me exactly how the Futureheads resemble the Smiths or Morrisey in any way? After consideratoin, I'm sure you'll agree they don't and will feel very ashamed of yourself.

...and Bloc Party don't sound like the Smiths or Morrisey much either. Perhaps there's a tiny hint of Morrisey in Kele's voice but not really much... c'mon be honest!

I think what we have here is a simple case of you not liking these bands for the perfectly valid reason that you don't enjoy their sound. If you had've come on here and posted something like "I really don't like these bands becasue I don't enjoy their sound or songs" I would have had some respect for you - if only for your simple honesty.

As it stands though, you have blown it - I cannot stand it when people back up their arguments with blatant innacuracies. Please give us some credit by having a decent argument before you post next time.

Are you joking? Music is finally getting good again after years of suffering ‘the new rock revolution’ a scene created by the NME to save its dying sales (I actually preferred their ‘we hate music’ policy of 97-2000). This year has seen classic albums by bright eyes, the arcade fire, rilo kiley and its only just march and promises the hopefully triumphant return of dinosaur jr, weezer and desaparecidos. For the first time in ages there are more cds I want than I can get…I haven’t been this into music since I first donned a nirvana hoodie (never actually had a nirvana hoodie but you know what I mean). The libertines and their ilk suck but english bands have never been good have they? (except cable and the smiths)

Jet, Kings of Leon et al = bands that drag music backwards in time to an era when men were men, moustaches and beards were grown long, sheep were terrified and women were kept in check by a strong hand. Furthermore, their music is godawful. They should have realised that listening to old old Led Zeppelin records is not the way forward.

Bloc Party, Biffy Clyro etc = bands who twist music around and make it sound exciting again after we all had to suffer through T4 playing those terrrrrrrrrrible Jet songs over and over again. Besides, there's nothing wrong with a bit of Morrissey.

oh, and Reef were dire.

Chameleon is a friend of mine, but I don't like Jet. I think they suck. Do I abuse him for liking them. No - that would make me a childish cunt.
