I went to the opticians for the second time in my life ever a couple of weeks ago. Now I've got to get glasses. The shape of my head is not well suited to glasses, I don't want them. But my eyes are hurty hurting already just looking at this screen. Apparently I've got stigmatisms. Also - glasses - very fucking expensive. I know I'm going to leave them on a bus somewhere.

I predict spending hours
in glasses shop and leaving, grumpily with some that make me look like a dickhead.
Maybe my eyes can be lazered back into shape..
I always thought
my face wasn't the right shape for glasses, then I found the perfect pair. Its just a matter of trying on every pair you even remotely like about 100 times.

I've got them too
glasses are good...when you put them on for first time with new ones or new prescription it's like WOWS I can read small prints, and signs from a distance and WOOWOO!
There should be someone in your optician who can advise on the best shape for your face...ask to see cheaper frames too!

I think my frames cost about £30 and lenses aren't THAT much on top.

I agree, it's important to get something you feel comfortable wearing seeing as it's so prominent.
My 'spare' pair of glasses make me look like I've got special needs. I think if my current ones broke I'd walk around blind rather than wear them :(

i was shortsighted the other day. i think i just need to eat more carrots. but i should probably get my eyes tested! i'm sure you will get glasses that look fine!
I was thirteen or something when I found out I needed glasses.
I was so worried about wearing them to school for the first time asI already had braces and thought that was bad wnough. I don't mind wearing them now so much. And you can wear contact lenses if you want. I buy a month's worth of dailey disposable ones and it lasts me three or four months as I don't wear them everyday.

ie. I had glasses but didn't really suit them. Just wear them when you need them for a while then get contacts.
I have stigmatisms too! I wouldn't use glasses at the computer, it makes me headachy.

and just get some cheap glasses online to wear at home when you're hiding or when your eyes feel tired... you can get glasses and lenses for £15 too.
