wut?
Biffy Clyro innit.
aren't they really,
really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really shit or is it just me?
It's just you.
And a few others...
But they're all wrong. Amazing band.
I dont think theyre shit.
But I really can't see whats so good about them. At all.
oh rite
saw them live once, thought they were gash
we are the others
although not the band whatever happened to them? they were really shit too, not as shit as biffy clyro though
where?
torrent?
SLSK?
Both?
Oink supposedly.
I'm getting it sent to me over msn.
any chance of a yousendit
link? :D
All in good time.
cheers man
that'd be ace :)
it's on libble
.
a Llama Farmers
support band is what they will always be to me
the Llama Farmers
now there was a totally bollocks shit band if there ever was one even worse than the Lords which is hard
indeed
sir
you hate the Lords too
if so continue the anti-Lords abuse here http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/1943409 i'm watching Espanyol - Sevilla penalties, come on Espanyol
I'VE FORGOTTEN MY LOG IN
DAMN IT
I'm going to resist.
No matter how much i'm tempted to download, I am going to wait until release day.
listening now
so far very good. havn't listened to biffy in ages, very summery
^^this
4th June has been marked down as a very special day.
Good for you!!!
It's always better to wait.
anyone
got a link yet?
It's terrible
3/4 of it sound like the foo fighters/snow patrol. Total fucking cringe fest.
There are 2 good tracks. Get Fucked Stud, cos it has an awesome opening, and 9/15th, just cos it's fucked up.
The rest, oh boy. Pish.
I take some of this back, actually.
Some of them are choons.
...But most of it still sounds like the foos.
...
I can kinda see the Foos comparisons, but it's a hundred times better than anything the Foos have ever done.
lies
.
The foos did do two good albums
y'know ;)
none as good as 'Puzzle'
FACTOID
I'm excited now
I'd count colour and the shape amongst my top 10 'rock' albums. And All My Life is a great record.
i
like the track with the barking.
Hmm, definately poppy
but that's not neccessarily a bad thing. Better lyrics than usual in some places and some solid tunes. One or two dudds but more consistent than their other LP's; lacking the odd high point but no real troughs either.
It'll work nicely in the summer. Hopefully they'll get more freedom on the next un and make something really weird.
i dunno
I've never liked Biffy before.
But Saturday Superhouse is excellent.
Would I like this album?
Yeah
I've listened to it a few times now. It's definitely more poppy. It's like an album of "Glitter and Trauma's". I really like it already and I think it will grow.
Oceanstorm
is you and Fullerov don't like this album I will eat my own testicles.
"if" natch
hehe
ok, I'll definitely check it out.
The review in rocksound
said that this is the 'relationship of command' for contemporary British Rock.
Which is pretty high praise.
Who's got a match?
surely the next single? It's catchier than the ones they've released.
I agree
it'll make a perfect single!
IT SOUNDS LIKE NO-ONE KNOWS SO MUCH
when they've played it live at least.
Nah
the beat might do a bit, but I never really noticed 'no-one knows' in it before.
it's their qotsa song
don't bother denying it
.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b285/_darcy_/shutthefuckup-1.jpg
what does it taste like?
my balls
...and I'll stir it with my dick.
are you still talking?
no, I'm stirring
drink up.
liar
this is pretty fucking special
gutted i'm missing them in a couple of weeks.
they were great on tuesday
can't wait for the roundhouse
It's...
the Foo Fighters. When they were good.
Solid record. I like the lyrics too. They don't seem to feel the need to go nuts anymore.
It'll be their biggest seller, no doubt about it. It has that kinda "breakthrough" feel about it.
I'm waiting
until June 4th and stuff. But these Foo Fighters comments are making me a bit uneasy. Foo Fighters could never write an album like The Vertigo of Bliss.
That's in the past.
Take Puzzle for what it is, which is a damn good pop-rock album.
I know I know
but I'm not sure if I'd call some of what I've heard (Now I'm Everyone for example) good pop-rock. I realise this'd probably be different in the context of the album, and Get Fucked Stud sounded pretty good.
First listen through
I loved it up until 'Folding Stars', but that song nearly put me off the whole album. What the fuck?? It's horrible. But then 'Machines' pulled it back. It's a good album, I'm sure it'll grow on me a bit more and I like it more than I liked Infinity Land after the first listen...
It's lacking hugely in the thing which made Biffy great in the first place though, the random guitar fuckery with added screaming. It's getting a cautious thumbs-up for now.
I like Folding Stars.
But yeah, not enough screaming on the album in general.
Also, the first track = Amazing. I think it's the new single too.
They're starting to sound like Feeder
It's horrible.
I'd agree
but I'd say "they're starting to sound like Feeder 'on the occasional song'".
I think Folding Stars has been deliberately put between Get Fucked, Stud and 9/15ths to kind of soften the blow of the sub-Snow Patrol MOR soft-rock hit to the fans who like them for Bodies In Flight. Like "yeah, we know this one sucks but listen to THIS and THIS, we've still got it, honest!"
Agree on the Folding Stars thing
it's slotted between two much better tracks as a half apology.
the fact that
the rest of the album is FUCKING BRILLIANT softens the blow <several listens on from my above post>. The Conversation Is..., the soft screamy bit at the end of As Dust Dances, the drums on Love Has A Diameter etc etc... I'm fully converted
:D
As Dust Dances is amazing.
The whole bloody album is.
The intro=
news bulletin music. It's absolutely awful. OH BIFFY WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? :(
Haha.
.
it finally hit home for me when i was walking to the library with it on full volume in my earphones, really fucking great album. It's more straightforward, and the songs that sucked live still suck, but for TUUUNES like The Conversation Is..., 9/15th's and Get Fucked Stud they can't fail.
WHERE HAS EVERYONE GOT THIS FROM?
i'm dying to hear it but i just can't find it anywhere!
*cry for help*
It's on Soulseek
RIGHT NOW. User gillissimo. There's a queue though.
torrent
mininova. search for 'biffy'. it's the 1st one.
ta i'll check that out
i've got a YSI link, but the download keeps stalling on me :(
actually
not mininnova, try demonoid instead
nah i already got it going
off mininova :P
With a band
I really love, I would never download a leaked album, but I'm incredibly anxious about this record.
It's worrying me, I need to downlaod it now...
Likewise
I dunno if I can exercise enough self-restraint to not download this...
I don't see the point in not downloading
if you're buying it anyway. People say "ziff y'can't wait 2 weeks", but why not get it early? Out of some loyalty to the band? It'll make one hundred percent no difference to them, so why not? The fact that this release kept getting pushed back made my mind up.
kay, that looks dickish
of course if you wanna wait for artwork etc, wait. Ignore me like those people in the street who ask if you've had a trip or fall.
But no more-so.
Dunno.
I miss the excitement of buying an album and not having previously heard a majority of its songs.
...meh, I can wait.
true true
7/10.
I've decided that is my rating. It's their worst album, but still good.
it's better than Blackened Sky
but then again, so is having a trip or fall anywhere.
Lies ^
Blackened Sky is great.
any chance of that yousendit link
IM? :D
I already sent you it.
it's better
than Infinity Land.
I've made the big decision
to delete Folding Stars. I dislike it and it ruins the flow of the album, it's meant to be getting grimmer till "machines" and FS is sugar pop.
I also did this with "session singer in a soul band" or whatever it was off Bright Eyes last album. It works a treat. You're listening along and think "fuck, I need to skip the next one" and it never comes.
Folding Stars
Is what the whole album is about. Listen to the lyrics. It's seriously dark, but still outrageously hopeful.
I think it's a beautiful song, you have to hold onto the meaning of it to allow it to have the impact it is intended to have.
Bittersweet innit.
I'm aware of all that
and I'm a huge 'lyrics' man. When I read them in magazine reviews, I hoped it'd be a completely miserable but beautiful quiet song.
But singing "Elanor, I would do anything for another minute with you" like it's some bird who's just popped to the shops when Si's got the horn isn't what I had in mind.
you
are a moron
amputee-porn
Not that I'd expect a shred of sensitivity with a name like that, but have you lost your mother? Or indeed anyone incredibly close to you?
I have, and there is nothing more honest and true than the sentiment that you would give anything for another minute with that person.
It is a simple honest truth that is wasted on complete fuckwits like yourself.
"But singing "Elanor, I would do anything for another minute with you" like it's some bird who's just popped to the shops when Si's got the horn isn't what I had in mind."
That's just offensive, you cunt.
^^^ this
.
yes, yes, I'm a monster - apologies
But the sentiment isn't what I had a problem with, if you read what I said, you'd see that the sentiment actually quite enticed me. I really expected a delicate song, a la 'Machines', which I think is a classic.
I'm certain Folding Stars is sincere, but I was just trying to explain why it lost some credibility with me. And yes, I have lost very close people, I suppose to you that means I am *capable* of understanding why he might be upset.
You are
attempting to back track and in doing so you are contradicting yourself.
I can't even be bothered with this conversation. I'd rather stare at spreadsheets
I really like this album.
I'm a massive fan of the first three and I thought I would think this one will definitely be the worst. I now feel very wrong. It's nowhere near as good as vertigo of bliss, but it's very different, almost like a different band. Easily accessible on the first listen and has grown on me each one after. A lot of people are going to hate this, there's pretty much no screaming at all, nearly no spazzy mental weird bits (9/15ths is a bit weird though). I STILL don't understand the Foo Fighters comparison though. I think one person said it and about 5 million people who have probably only ever heard "that song on mtv2 once" just agreed.
