I think it helped him from going to total death with 'The Information' which was his best effort for a while.

i agree with yesiamaduck

also, i feel people judging him for being a scientologist when he makes good music is harsh because who cares what religion he is.... you know? different courses for different horses. unless beck starts coming after me with a headset and begins beating me with a clipboard, i'm not going to judge him for it.

Yeah but

Here's a nice interview quote that is indicative of just how serious about scientology he is:

"Yeah, I'm a Scientologist. My father has been a Scientologist for about 35 years, so I grew up in and around it. What it actually is is just sort of, uh, you know, I think it's about philosophy and sort of, uh, all these kinds of, you know, ideals that are common to a lot of religions."

For shame

I thought Beck was an intelligent fellow. Fancy him being swept up by a cult, especially one with such a laughable origin. Will always keep listening to his music though. Who can deny the brilliance of Odelay! and Guero.
