'Mornington Crescent' - Belle and Sebastion
'Morden' - Good Shoes

these songs always pop into my head when I see their names on a tube map.

There must be more...

My Life Story

no albums titles allowed though.

Erm, Baker Street...

How about: "Morden a Feeling"?

So does

Down in the Tube Station at midnight!

.

Ed Ball - Mill Hill Self Hate Club

Wonder Stuff - Golden Green (not quite but close enough)

bloody hell

from what i gather from that song, fergie does not give blowjobs.

mile end - blur

Mile end

by Pulp, no?

that Morden song is devilish clever

everytime i get the southbound northern line (ie almost every day) that song end up in my head

im going to right a song called High Barnett. i might make it be about marge simpson

I see

what you did there.

the reason I started this thread

was the EXACT reason alcxxk just pointed out.

As I ventured back to Euston last night I gazed at the tube map, Morden sat their winking at me at the end of the black line and that song popped song into my head.

I realised that it did so every time I looked at the northern line map and no doubt it will continue to do so.

Clever? Or down right fucking irritating? I'm not sure yet.

this has

happened to me with 'baker street', on the occasions ive passed through that swooning saxophone solo has been stuck in my head for quite a while...

*through, that

i didnt

need to correct myself there did i, hmmm.

Blackhorse Road

Hefner

not technically station names

but

Down in the tube station at midnight - the jam

Northern line - jamie t

Angel - Simply Red

Also, Fascination Street is a disused station on the Piccadilly Line.

Whippin' Piccadilly - Gomez

I know it's not London - poetic license innit.

Piccadilly Circus innit

also the Piccadilly line

On a similar theme

Whenever I 'alight' at Holloway Road I have that song by Hefner that mentions Holloway Road (Painting and Kissing I think) going through my head.

It is

Painting and Kissing. It's where the girl lives.

I thought there would more Hefner songs named after parts of London but I could only find 1.

elliot smith mentions

'White city on the yellow line', in Baby Britain, but we all know white city is on the red line, artistic license I guess..

Maybe the song

was about someone weeing on some drugs, or a snow palace in a magical kingdom, or a polar bear?

Don't wee on polar bears, kids. It's proper wrong.

Any song

By much-missed, not-even-big-enough-to-have-a-wiki-page boy-band 'Northern Line'.

'Angel' by Goldie.

Er... 'Whoreditch' by William?
