they're alright

i wouldnt pay money to go see them, but i dont mind listening to them on the radio

i agree

radio friendly

i like klaxons

maccabees sounded alright, but i didnt like them as much as klaxons.

Klaxons are ok.

I've never heard the Maccabees.

^ That's almost my answer

I think Klaxons are ALMOST ok
I've yet to hear the Maccabees

Maccabees shite

Klaxons qual.

yes, i think i may be having a moment of weakness

im just suddenly wondering if im being closed-minded to immediately write off these bands. maybe i havent given them a chance..?

if you dont like them you dont like them

and they're the kind of thing that, if you dont like it after a 3 or 4 listens, you're probably never going to.

Klaxons:

Good singles, bad album, good live show.

Bonus points for keeping it super short (40 mins!) and not doing an encore.

Treat em like a can of coke rather than a bottle of wine.

you

should all be ashamed of yourselves

Shush

Just a bit of fun innit?

Not like they are ever going to be credible so not worth worrying about.

It wasn't that long ago that the boards

here were raving about both of them, saying how they are great new bands. Few months later and alot of you have changed your opinion, typical.

i never liked them

and i never said i did.

nah

that does happen on here. but i dont think it has with these bands.

i think the majority of people on here have consistently not liked them. or not listened to them, then not liked them.

and the people who did like them still do.

^this

In most cases i would say that that sort of thing doesnt really happen. Its usually two different groups on DiS at different times. But it still does sometimes.

Maccabees - good but boring

Massive mistake to release a load of singles (5?!) in the year and a half preceding the album. Impossible to maintain interest by the time the album came around. They're good at what they do but they don't have enough strings to their bow.

Klaxons - stupid music for stupid people.

hi!

:D

x

don't bracket them together

klazons - ace silly pop band.
maccabees - dull, dull, dull, dull, dull

I don't know maccabees

(I don't think) but I think Klaxons are rather cool myself. I don't have the album but the single is good and I saw a handful of songs on some London Live tv show...Klaxons are well-cool!

The general tone from other DiSers though is not so flattering (re: klaxons). They get more of the NME Flavor of the Month yuk! treatment.

I'm not Brit so I am not overwhelmed with Klaxons like maybe you guys are *shrugs*

bf

can't recall any of their songs.

I think that says it all really...definitely heard them both a lot on the radio and mtv2, and have made the effort to check klaxons stuff out on myspace to see if I liked it or not, but nothing sticks.

I quite like them.

The Maccabees have made a few good songs and the Klaxons album is a really good guitar pop record. There's nothing more to it than that really. Just fun pop music.

I like them both

Seen them both live, both good but Klaxons better.
So according to the majority of posts I have no taste in music, oh well

i like that DiS has a mix of tastes now

instead of everyone listening to neutral milk hotel and slagging off the nme every week.

but this generally gets me

a 'you have shit music tatse' reply

love both of them.

fucking 'mint'.

I like

the Klaxons, but only listened to their album one so far, so I might get bored.
Haven't lisetened to anything by the maccabees

Well

Klaxons (Myths Of The Near Future)
Is an album full of hooks and sparks of genuingly interesting moments, unfourtenetly repetetive and clearly over played. 7/10

Maccabees (Colour It In)
Full of smart yet typical spikey tunes these are dominated by said guitar riffs but u know what they have got an air of appeal to them and the album actually pretty good if not samey. 7/10

I like em okay, good for mainstream bands if u ask me

I like both.

A lot.

I likes them

not amazing or anything but enjoyable.

Klaxons

I'm pretty indifferent to, though to be honest i'm pretty bored of the 'rock + dance' thing.

Maccabees I have no time for, they don't excite me in any way, but i've never been the biggest fan of guitar pop.
