Godspeed You Black Emporer side project The Silver Mount Zion Memorial Orchestra And Tra-La-La Band formerly A Silver Mount Zion are set to release the follow up to their magnificent debut LP "He Has Left Us Alone, But Shafts of Light Sometimes Grace The Corner of Our Rooms" on October 1st.

The record is entitled "Born into Trouble as the Sparks Fly Upward" and is likely to be released on Constellation Records for the vinyl and Kranky Records for the CD, as has been the case with all past Godspeed related releases. The album is supposed to be a "slightly more experimental bent with, more effects, maybe a bit more Pink Floyd, but jaw-droppingly amazing."

Godspeed You Black Emporer! are also rumoured to be recording with uber-noise-god Steve Albini.

A Silva Mt Zion Return

Great news...a couple of factual errors though. It's A Silver Mount Zion, and apparantly on the new release it's The Silver Mount Zion Memorial Orchestral And Tra La La Band. (no joke!). Also, both CD and Vinyl will be on Constellation, as was the case with the first album. (Godspeed releases are split between Constellation and Kranky.)

I stand by the A Silva Mt Zion cause I think it sounds the nicest. On the last album it definitely says A Silver Mt Zion. And they used 'Silva' at some time. I think that is the nicest so I've always used that. Bloody Pedants!! :)
Your completely right about the Constellation. not sure why i thought the first one was on Kranky.
I ignored the tra la la band thing as i thought it was a joke.
