Its half-time and the toon are beating Spurs 1-0!!! Yeeehaaaa!

I'll be ripped to shreds on here if we throw it away 2nd half!

              Newcastle have now clocked up about 7 consecutive wins. If thats not good form I don't know what is.

                there's no denying that they're picking up a lot of good results but they're playing so atrociously. No way they deserved to go through against Spurs. If you take 3-4 players out of that side and they'd be really struggling.

                  Wouldn't that apply to most teams? Middlesbrough particularly - Take away (for example) Southgate, Hasselbaink, Downing and Schwarzer and Boro really aren't that great.

                  I didn't see the spurs game so can't comment on that, but teams don't win 7 games consecutively just with luck.

                    ok. take given, shearer and, perhaps, boumsong out of that side and they'd be potential relegation candidates. Of course not all seven wins are down to luck ... but clearly some of them are and its that that makes the run look impressive.

                      We're grinding out results, which is what good teams do when they aint playing well. Obviously we will have to play better to beat Man U in the semis. But we're only six points off an UEFA Cup position now, and if we get to the final of the FA Cup we've got a UEFA Cup place anyway.
