Robert Wyatt is to release a new album in October.
Comicopera will meet the dank light of specialist record stores on the 8th of October, and is being released through Domino.
The long-player is split into three 'Acts' - outlines of which lie below:
Act One: Lost In Noise
'Stay Tunes'
'Just As You Are'
'You You'
'A.W.O.L.'
'Anachronist'
Act Two: The Here And The Now
'A Beautiful Peace'
'Be Serious'
'On The Town Square'
'Mob Rule'
'A Beautiful War'
'Out of The Blue'
Act Three: Away With The Fairies
'Del Mondo'
'Cancion de Julieta'
'Pastafari'
'Fragment'
'Hasta Siempre'
Other people feature on Comicopera - famous ones like Paul Weller, Brian Eno and Phil Manazanera. Looking forward to it?
Yes, actually
apart from the bit about Paul Weller.
I love Wyatt
Hopefully going out on Domino will introduce him to a new audience
I liked Rock Bottom
until I noticed the lyrics.
Wot?
You need a new brain if you don't like those lyrics
hmmm
"Your skin shining softly in the moonlight
Partly fish, partly porpoise, partly baby sperm whale"
quite
"Not nit not nit no not
Nit nit folly bololey
Alifi my larder
Alifi my larder
I can't forsake you or
Forsqueak you
Alifi my larder
Alifi my larder
Confiscate or make you
Late you you
Alifi my larder Alifi my larder
Not nit not nit no not
Nit nit folly bololy
Burlybunch, the water mole
Hellyplop and fingerhole
Not a wossit bundy, see ?
For jangle and bojangle
Trip trip
Pip pippy pippy pip pip landerim
Alifi my larder
Alifi my larder
I'm not your larder,
jammy jars and mustard.
I'm not your dinner,
you soppy old custard.
And what's a bololey
when it's a folly?
I'm not your larder,
I'm your dear little dolly.
But when plops get too helly
I'll fill up your belly.
I'm not your larder,
I'm Alife your guarder."
indeed
yes, and?
you suck
Should be good
Just not sure what he's doing on Domino, or why he's collaborating with Paul Weller.
i think
he suits Domino very well.
Hunh?
Domino, home of Pram and Von Sudenfed? Sounds like just the place for Robert Wyatt.
And As For Weller
Before he became your dad, he was in a certain band called The Jam that didn't suck.
Even a tool like Noel Gallagher can make decent music when he's collaborating with the Chemical Brothers.
So don't write off Weller/Wyatt just yet -- in fact, I've a funny feeling they may have worked together before but I can't be tossed to google it and make myself appear all clever like.
whoops
like i just did, you mean?
:(
Weller was on
Shleep too, which was actually rather good. especially Free Will and Testament. oh yes.
weller
weller is on rock bottom you foooools
OMG OMG OMG
love him.
: )
can't wait
