I am off to rijeka in croatia at the end of the month for 4 days. anyone on here been? i hear good things about it and really looking forward to it! any feedback would be welcome!

I flew back from there
after traveling around other places, and I have to say Rijeka didn't really seem that exciting, but we were just passing through on the way to the airport really
The airport is on a nice island called Krk, which is worth a day trip (also the bus times are really random, so be careful if you getting the bus to the airport... we had to get one 7 hours before our flight coz it was the only one! but that did mean we had time to go to the beach on Krk and stuff which was nice)
Also take a daytrip to Spilt (I think it's about an hour train ride away). The Roman bit in the middle is really nice and there is an alright beach for swimming (but a bit tourist-y)

Go to Split! It's my hometown, it's absolutely brilliant.. My house is near that beach but it's not tourist-y at all (well, not yet, the summer hasn't started properly), I've been there just a week ago and seen only locals :)
Also, Rijeka is right next to a peninsula called Istra, so would be good to visit a few places there.
