A bottle of Brown Ale was also consumed, this made me feel amazing, I think it killed my virus.
It's bottled Tyne water so you'd expect it to kill most things

The ultimate 'ill drink':
Boil up some grated/chopped fresh ginger root, fill 1/2 to 2/3 of a mug with the resulting liquid, stir in some honey and top up with brandy. YES. Probably most pubs don't serve this though!

it's not going to help your cold clear up really. You can have fun without drinking, right?
when i was little my dad would give me a bit of whisky mixed up with lots of cola
always helped but may not have actually helped.. still...
get vicks, eat lots of vitamin c, avoid dairy (encourages more mucous apparently) and you should make it through!

you get really drunk it won't matter will it? i mean, if you can't feel the sore throat it'll be fine. until the morning.
