Obscure drone-metallers Kaiser Chiefs have announced their biggest-ever headline tour with ten dates at arena venues across the UK.
The unlistenable Leeds five-piece will be hauling their sorry asses round the country in November and early December, with the possibility of more dates to follow.
The news comes after their Glastonbury appearance over the weekend, which allegedly drew the biggest crowd of the festival.
November
21 Exeter Westpoint Arena
22 Bournemouth BIC
24 Cardiff CIA
26 Birmingham NIA
28 Nottingham Arena
30 Manchester MEN Arena
December
3 Sheffield Hallam FM Arena
4 Hull Arena
10 Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
14 London Earls Court
I am tempted to go
but I have seen them play this album live about 3 times now.
i really wouldn't mind
giving the drummer from kaiser cheifs a ruddy good punch round the chops.
something about him is so annoying.
i think
he lives around stoke newington. see him the odd saturday afternoon on church st. DO IT!!
*puts punching jacket on*
Surely Wilson would be first in the punching line...
?
no
drummer has ideas above his station and has a much more punchable face
wilson second, peanut third, that fro haired guitarist and the other one i care not about
They couldn't even sell out
venues like Manc Apollo, so this is very ambitious. If you want to go, be clever and wait for the inevitable ebay uber-bargains!
I reckon they will sell out
Also "Unlistenable"...come on Alex, you can do better than that.
I'm surprised being as DiS released their first single.....
Maybe just report the facts rather than having a pop eh.
wave your hands in the air
wave them around like you just don't care. say uuurggg. say aaaaaarggghhh. are you enjoying yourselves glastonbury? i said are you enjoying yourselves glastonbury? i can't hear you. i still can't hear you. louder. say yeah. say no. say three bags full. er....wave your hands around again glastonbury.say yeah. get your lighters out. put them away again.
I agree with that Terra
fwiw
I didn't
want to come across as sounding too harsh, but it's just too easy to have a pop and express personal opinions in these news stories sometimes rather than actually just stating the facts.
But surely
the good thing about DiS is that people do express opinions, rather than just stating facts. I read the website because I'm interested in the opinions.
And I'm certainly glad that Alex felt he could slag them off, despite a lot of people at DiS clearly liking them. And I'm glad that DiS printed it.
I'm not a huge fan or anything
by any means just felt that it was a little out of order, that's all.
this announcement
continues the trend of Hull ice arena booking increasingly shitter acts
would you rather
DIS joined the Zane Lowe and Jo Wiley school of journalisn?
No, so shut the hell up
What?
No,
but what i'd rather is personal opinions not being part of the news story....that's for the boards.
still, this isn't BBC News 24
No
but it is a pro website read and respected for it's opinions....it's just lacks a bit of professionalism IMO when bands are being slagged off by the folks who are supposed to be giving us decent newsworthy stories....no offence lads...on the whole it's great but there's been quite a lot of slagging off of bands in the news stories of late :)....
then again, that stuff is what i love about DiS.
you wouldn't get that in the NME :)
I thought
he was trying to say unlistenable as in the sense that they play inacessable songs carrying on the Obscure drone-metallers riff. Not actually slagging them off as such, just saying they are quite pop and not heavy going. I do like it when opinions are put in the news stories as it often makes them a better read.
I think people should generally lighten up a bit with the Kaiser chiefs as they do have some good fun songs and played a good enjoyable set at glastonburg especially after you've had a few beers.
^^^ this
ah hey, I am not that arsed...maybe just caught me in the wrong mood.
I love
the slagging. More please.
hahaha
so ironic.
Glasto lies.
It's so annoying when people make up stuff about glasto. I camped just behind the pyramid stage and the kaisers didnt pull an exceptionally big crowd as I sat at my tent and waited for The Who. I saw The Killers' last song as I returned from the Stooges gig, and it was regrettably the biggest crowd I've ever seen.
