You know those songs that make you worry that something really bads about to happen

Yeah they're quite nice.

Personally i find the last half of 'God bless our dead marines' to be quite a scary song. The steady march like drums and end of the world lyrics make me poo myself a bit.

M83's 'Car chase terror' as well. for more obvious songs.

Any more?
or are scary songs not good/non-existent and i'm just talking utter bollocks

Faaip de Oiad

by Tool scared the hell out of me once when i was walking home stoned. I was 16 and walking through a field at about 3 in the morning and it came on....i got so scared yet for some reason couldn't turn it off!

Flashback by Tomahawk

I think it's Flashback. The one where there's a lot of "shut up!" being shouted. On headphones at one point it sounds like someone's saying it just over your shoulder. I was listening to it stoned in a darkened field one night and I very nearly shat myself at that bit.

F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E.

by Pulp.

First time I heard it, listening on my walkman, led on my bed in complete darkness. Jarvis' whispered monologue was eerie enough, but then when the chorus hits so abruptly and powerfully my heart pratcically jumped out of my chest.

Beautiful South

Can't remember what song but I was trying to sleep in France so put it on abd got paranoid I was going to be killed by a French axe murderer.

Beautiful =]

oooh oooh

you can't mention anything Beautiful South related and then not give me full details. What album was it from?

cant see that myself

the first time i listened the bit in YMSS' 'A little late...' after the hymns have trumpet parts, when it kicks in again. Actually almost gave me a heartattack.

Battles - Atlas

Makes me feel like I'm being brainwashed by Tellytubby-esque aliens and everyone else is in on it, conspiring against me, because they actually think the song is good.

i don't know but

when i was fairly young i was playing a cd while standing on a ladder in my room putting up posters i think
can't remember what CD it was but it had a 'hidden track' at the end - the first CD i owned that did
It was late and night and i nearly fell off the ladder when this CD suddenly started banging out a tune again 5 minutes after it had finished

dunno about scare

but i remember feeling vaguely troubled when listening to geogaddi whilst flitting in and out of consciousness after getting horribly drunk one time .... very odd

I was walking home at night once

and Aim's Demonique came on my walkman. Heard it a hundred times before and never scared me, but I tell you, it scared me then.

Scariest ever, though? Frankie Teardrop by Suicide. If anyone says they can listen to that, through headphones, alone, and not feel abject terror, well, they're lying.

For me

Intense Humming Of Evil by the manics. fucked up song

WE'RE ALL FRANKIE'S ......... WE'RE ALL LYING IN HELL

YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

But Frankie can't make it.....

I don't think I've ever managed to listen to that song all the way through, it is terrifying...

i have never listened to that again it shat me up so much.

the scream at the end of subway song by the cure always frightens me if i'm not paying attention

Bela Lugosi

is dead, is dead, un-dead!

Anything by Sunn

Some KTL.

I guess...

Godspeed

Static....

The Cure - Pornography

(especially in the dark)

stuff off of the Sunn0)))/Boris

album. I listened/reviewed it in the dark; quite a strange experience.

Blind Pilots - TCTC

just cos i can never get the video out of my head and its so scary

That record

is poor, I think. A bit of Wolfmangler is better.

this Mclusky song used to freak me out a bit

when i was younger.

i don't remember the name - but its on 'The difference between me + you...' about mid way through, and it kind of starts loud, then gets quieter and quieter while he is singing until he is barely whispering, then it bursts back in again, which always used to make me jump.

anyone know what song i mean?

Slay!

Black Sabbath : Black Sabbath

the rain and thunder at the start and then one of the most ominous riffs i've ever heard.

Could this be the end my friend?

Satan's come around the bend!

Dave, Stop Killing Prostitutes

When the voices (two or three of them) deliver the titular command at the end of the song. I mean, we've all thought about it, am I right fellas?

PS My name is Dave.

I thought he meant "All Your Children..."

but that FADES IN. I fail.

That one is much creepier though. I am creeped out just listening to it right now :(

the kids by lou reed

...

Aisha

by death in vegas

I'm with you on Aisha

"Aisha, he got out" ooooh, chilling!

the brownout album

by phoenecia....do not listen to alone in the dark.

alternatively, listen to it alone in the dark

Captain Beefheart

It's like a ghost on my MP3 player, nothing else like it - makes me jump every time.

Wire

French Film Blurred

The guitar lick over the bit where Colin Newman sings 'A second language' over and over is just chilling. It's the sound of discovering your girlfriend is a vampire.

just the right bullets - tom waits

it sounds like voodoo music.

for some reason

Owen's Lament by Augie March!! the whistling .. ehhh ... yep that and Bionic Vapor Boy by Bungle
