Best album outro

Blatantly inspired by the intro thread, what are peoples favourite outros.

personally i absolutely love the break down at the end of radiator, and the ones at the end of guerrila and phantom power are pretty good too (notice a theme?)

Re: Best album outro

Hmmm again another Pavement one - 'Infinite Spark' (or 'Fin') on Brighten the Corners is brilliant....massive long fade of a feedback solo.

Also as someone mentioned on the other thread, the end of the Unicorns album is great.

Re: Best album outro

the end of ugly organ by cursive ...with the choir and distorted drums and all kinds of racket going on.
its also sort of a light relief after all the tales of betrayl and claustrophic sounds, and it has a nice shiny new outlook after the despair contained within.

"doo do do doo do-do..the worst is over"

Re: Best album outro

This is Hardcore lp by Pulp with the infinite note and Everything Picture lp by Ultrasound which turns into a cathartic endpiece and a piano verison of 'Best Wishes'
God I sound so late 90s.

Re: Best album outro

I do love Mountain People at the end of Radiator, people think it's just some jingle-jangle piece of music then suddenly it's pounding techno.

I also like the Shame at the end of Burn Piano Island Burn (The start and ends of this album are ace)

This reminds me of the old joke, "so why is the last track your favourite?"
"Cause there's no more after it"

Re: Best album outro

The end of the first Liars album. ;)

Re: Best album outro

I listened to it all on the premise that something might happen.

It didn't :-(

Re: Best album outro

Although the claim's of it being "the best album ever" (or even the Beatles' best album) are something of an exaggeration, the outro to Sergeant Pepper is great...after the epic A Day In The Life, an enormous ringing piano chord, a note only dogs can hear, and random cut up studio talk.

Re: Best album outro

The end of OK Computer with the little ding of the bell.

Re: Best album outro

i would have to agree with both the ok computer ending and indeed the day in the life ending

Re: Best album outro

The bone shattering Leif Erikson at the end of Turn on the Bright Lights by Interpol.

Re: Best album outro

I'm with you on Cursive, but lest we forget the finale to Baby Chaos's Love Your Self Abuse'...

Re: Best album outro

Lief Erikson, or Kid A, the silence with the brief music followed by msuic is brilliant.

Re: Best album outro

Leif Erikson is one of the finest songs ever. Ever!

Re: Best album outro

is that a reference to the boat in the illuminatus?

Re: Best album outro

For album outro it has to be 'Frances The Mute' that little reprise of the very first track is unbelieveable.

For song outro it's 'Krusty' by Papa M just because it's The Simpsons in the background.

Re: Best album outro

i said it on the intros thread, but the end of the Unicorns album. dunno whether to laugh or cry or both.

"i've seen the whole world, i've kissed all the pretty girls, i've said my goodbyes and now i'm ready to d...."

like a twee version of 'The Wall', non?

also Distophia - Soda Lake...about seven minutes of bleeping before the 'hidden track'
and Aphex Twin - Drukqs

ooh, and i really like the end of 'Out Spaced' too...

Re: Best album outro

its the little cough that makes it perfect

Re: Best album outro

yeah, although i didn't want to try and reproduce that in written form...hehe.

Re: Best album outro

the 2nd best thing about the album is the tiny print inside the cover saying "fuck what you heard still jenny from the block". I dont know why I find that so funny.

Re: Best album outro

i am the resurrection, off of the stone roses is always a good way to finish an album, obvious but great.

Re: Best album outro

i like the climax of floyd's DSOM. goes out with a bang

Re: Best album outro

There's a bit after that too, the heartbeat and 'there's no dark side of the moon... as a matter of fact it's all dark!'

It is rather quiet though

Re: Best album outro

the climax of 'inno a satana' at the end of 'in the nightside eclipse' by emperor.
i read they were only about 19 when this was written and recorded, they must have been scary kids, scary and talented ... and slightly evil.

Re: Best album outro

Ok, with no reference to the music, i love the outro to pedigree chump - spunge, just because it finishes with "this custard is a triumph simon" (said in v posh english accent) Anyway, simple things please simple minds.

Re: Best album outro

threee words

Re: Best album outro

i just typed in ho ho ho and they said that i have to make a worthwhile comment???

Re: Best album outro

probably this dastardly little outro in "dirty world" by the traveling wilburys (dont laugh children, it goes down a treat with a glass of port)

Electric dumplings
Red bell peppers
Fuel injection
Service charge
Five-speed gearbox
Long endurance
Quest for junk food
Big refrigerator
Trembling Wilbury
Marble earrings
Porky curtains
Power steering
Bottled water
Parts and services

........... ah the porky curtains....simply sublime xxx MWAH MWAH xxxx

Re: Best album outro

View From A Hill----- the Chameleons

just when you think a song couldn't get any dreamier the ending cuts in and raises the bar. it's like an outro to an outro.
