For those who might be bovvered.
Wednesday is gonna be the last Junkplanet Version 2 gig, for a while at least, maybe forever. Although the music is going great, we're doing each other's heads in and we're gonna pause, try to get some decent recordings of what we've come up with, release a summation CD of all the songs, drones, noise, harmonies, bits & pieces we came up with over the last year and a bit, and then maybe quit or change or evolve what we're doing, or form Junkplanet 3 - The Revenge (possibly with a choir and strings - get in touch if you're interested in this idea), or do other solo shizzle. Who knows.
But if you've seen us and enjoyed it, this is the last chance you'll have in the near future! Although we're doing some stripped down singing thing in Piney's tent at Truck too - around the same time as PWL hopefully.
If you're a Junkplanet h8tr, do me a favour and bite your lip, I could do without more people getting up in mah face about stuff, musical projects ending is a pain anyway without people doing your nut in on the internet.

Being forced out of the comfort zone and to engage imaginatively with what's available to make music on will be fun. I thought I might set up my old mac as a drum machine and attempt to make sense of the barely functional horror that is Garageband. It's truly the digital equivalent of a Tascam.

you just have to have a strategy and be patient.
I don't like it.
It's like... lego. I am used to being able to manipulate everything with much greater freedom and ease. It's seriously really, really clumsy and simplistic by comparison to Cubase.
I miss Cubase, stupid Intel mac chips :-(

Need a USB key. I was on about it to Germlin, he says it's a nightmare to use.
I wonder. I think some things work very well if you work within certain confines, like Garageband, but if you want to step outside of them it becomes really limiting and frustrating.
For example, programming any kind of non-standard beats on Garageband is incredibly limited.
What the fuck is that snap-to-the-beat-line shit about? What if you WANT it out of time, or to intentionally clip a sample or sound stupidly short so it goes BRRRRRRRRR

An open G chord is "supposed" to be played with middle, ring, pinky... where self-taught dudes tend to play it with index, middle, ring fingers. Que no?
i almost always
augment an open G by playing the third fret D with my ring finger. therefore I do use my pinky but also the ring finger.

Yes that was the reason those type of people were there
not for the Italian techno band or all female classic rock band :) which were good in there own right.
