Big cock up or booking system fixed. what u think? it all seems too easy! everyone on every forum seems to have them! maybe we're just being overly nervous but until i get that email i'm scared!!!
I want to wait for sixteen hours again, what kind of fucking stupid system lets you in straight away and lets you get ticket within 2 minutes? Fucking Eavis.
I'm ordering tickets for friends, and it keeps going to page not found - there's no chance of them cancelling orders because of mulitple applications is there?
Yeah, I think everyone's onto it now so it's busy. :(
My girlfriend did get through and put in our card details etc, but it didn't go to the confirmation page - does that mean we got ours or not, d'you reckon?
Dude at the top of the page - THANK YOU. That link brought us two tickety treats.
I don't see how it can be a cock-up - it brings you to exactly where the Aloud frontpage would. This is not like some secondary page designed to rape your pockets.
i got mine relatively trouble-free just after nine.
however, i have terrible friends. 2 of us have tickets as a result of my transaction earlier, but another 2 realise they don't have enough money on their debit cards and so are likely to be pressing 'redial' and trying to access the phone line until armaggedon and subsequently pay with a postal order. And as for the other 2, they don't appear to be out of bed yet...
Aloud.com is finally proclaiming to be sold out for me too - been trying since 9am and never got further than the http://www.seetickets.com/g2005/ page :/
ANDY IS BRILLIANT. I was trying aloud.com for about an hour and a half and it wouldn't work, came on to DiS to see if anyone had posted a link or something... worked straight away.
bloody hell! does anyone else think this stampede for tickets is more than just a little ridiculous? at the end of the day its only a weekend in a field... poor old glastonbury, its become a fashion accessory!
Personally i find it annoying BUT id be going anyway, glastonbury is the high light of my year, no doubt about it, it's certainly no fashion accessory to me and i doubt it is for most people on this site either. However i do find it annoying how it does seem to be increasingly a feature of the mainstream, although this year it seems to have happened to every festival. All the majors are now sold out, im absolutely shocked by that, even in the relatively short time that i've been going to festivals (five years now) there's been a huge rise in mainstream popularity and coverage, christ at the grand old age of nearly 21 i can already get nostalgic about the good old days when you could reading tickets in may
yeh thats what i meant... there was a time where i could ring mean fiddler up on the wednesday before the thursday start of reading, and there would be some tickets waiting for me. ive never been to glastonbury, its not my cup of tea, but im just saying that there must be a lot of people who go now just because it is 'glastonbury'. which is a shame really.
When (if) I get my confirmation email this will be my first Glastonbury and believe me it’s not because of the name! It’s Kylie, its new order, it’s the possibility they'll do Cant Get Blue Monday out Of My Head live!!! Its bands that I’ve never seen live before, it's the experience of going and being part of this amazing music spectacle that I’ve only seen on television. Also it's sharing the sights and sounds with your friends. Fashion accessory???? Absolute rubbish.
Speaking of which, I'd heard the line-up gets announced once tickets sell out - when is that likely to be then? Obviously there won't be a finalised line-up for a while
With glastonbury the line up isnt announced till june.
Oh and i know about that gorge website, it's pretty good, BUT things do change eavis was dropping huge hints about u2 at the end of the last festival, pretty much said he'd already booked them. But currently it's looking unlikely.
Basically im trying to say is that things do change, it'll be great who ever plays, but try not to get excited about one artist as they may not be booked (ala soulwax at reading one year) or something might happen to them, eg kylie might get a sore throat
I read in the Guardian that this year it won't be released until June. Last year I think it was earlier, but I dunno.
That site above's (the gorge one) predictions turned out pretty right last time, and virtualfestivals is good too. A lot of the bands will confirm they are appearing before the official announcement.
TV On The Radio
Qotsa
Pixies (no chance...)
Tom Waits (even less than no chance, but a boy can dream)
Bright Eyes was good last year, it'd be nice to see him again
Sonic Youth
John Cale
The thing about Glastonbury is it may be the festival with the history, nostalgia & it enables middle managers to be hippies for a weekend (not suggesting that's anyone here!), but no one knows the lineup for sure, so you could end up at a festival with shite mediocre bland mainstream bands (although if you like that sort of thing that's fine ;-) ).
£125 plus about £8 worth of fees and postage. Which is ok, considering it's glastonbury.
And i would say that line up really doesnt matter at glastonbury anywhere near as much as other festivals as theres so much more going on, and theres so many bands playing that you're bound to find something you enjoy.
Last year sunday night i ended up in the jazz world field watching ozomatli (who werent even meant to be on according to the lineup), not my thing at all normally, but at glasto it just felt right
I think you're on to something here - Glastonbury would be the ultimate fashion accessory. Just spraypaint it gold, put a chain on it and dangle it from my FACE.
I'd just look so ethnic! And my Islington friends would be SO impressed!
I don't know, a friend of mine phoned the customer support line coz it'd been more than 4 hours and she couldn't find his order... Could be a temporary glitch while they try and process all the orders. If it all falls through and I don't get a ticket, it's clearly fate telling me it'll be crap and a waste of money :o)

TV On The Radio
Qotsa
Pixies (no chance...)
Tom Waits (even less than no chance, but a boy can dream)
Bright Eyes was good last year, it'd be nice to see him again
Sonic Youth
John Cale
But most of these are unlikely.
Apparently Rachel Stevens is playing...

Re: glastonbury 2005 tickets!
I checked on the official message board last week that it was ok to get my ticket delivered to my halls
ordered my ticket today...
THEN, booked one for a mate which is when i read that they wont deliver to halls of residence and they wont change address.
Am now very fucking worried, i reckon i can sort it out especially as there's a record of me asking and all, BUT i wont be happy till it sorted.
