GOODBOOKS: Coming from the same wave of British bands such as The Maccabees and Fields, quartet Goodbooks is undoubtedly one of the big hopes for music in 2007. Signed to Columbia and with a few singles already under their belts, the group will release the debut album "Control" at the end of July, which it will certainly be packed with fresh pop songs, resembling the best bits of Beach Boys, Pulp and Magic Numbers. Recent single, the gorgeous "Passchendaele", shows that. This is the second of four gigs they are playing at Goonite Club in July/August, and it will surely be a very busy night. Arrive early.

The support acts were hand-picked by Goodbooks themselves, and they are…
SKY LARKIN: Fresh from a spring tour with twee-heroes Los Campesinos!, Leeds based Sky Larkin will delight us with their up-beat twee-punk-rock. Catch them while they are still playing intimate venues like Buffalo Bar. For fans of Elastica, Bis and Forward Russia.

LUPEN CROOK: This guy is one of the standouts of the English folk singer-songwriter scene that's been happening for a couple of years now. His songs are rustic and literate, and can easily appeal to fans of Peter Doherty, Patrick Wolf and Kid Harpoo.
