This is really making me laugh now. The Bravery's Morrissey-wannabe wanker of a lead singer called Brandon Flowers boring. Now I know not everyone on here is a fan of either but does anyone else think this is slightly laughable and hypocritical? Then this prick went on to talk about the lovely bassist Mark Stoermer as a little 9ft tall Dutch girl. Poor Mark, he never even did anything to them. Hahaha.

You have to admit though, the Bravery are cashing in on this Killers type music (I can't think of a word to describe it), and doing a bad job at it.

I've just bought this weeks NME, Flowers said he thinks the Bravery are copying the Killers... so the Bravery frontman just called him a girl.

Its like playground material.

I quite like the Killers, but when Brandon Flowers starts attacking other bands, I get annoyed with him. If NME didn't exist, I doubt anyone would have been informed of Brandon's Bravery related concerns and I can't say that that would be a big loss.

BOTH BANDS ARE COMPLETE COCKCHUGGERS!!!

'Complete' in the sense that they have all the neccessary qualifications needed to 'chug' on cock. I believe Brendon recieved his cockchugging masters certificate at the, now legendry All Things Willy Related University of Las Vagas. Im not sure where that quiff is from out of the bravery but it is comon knowledge he attained a first class cockchugging degree online, actually making him the very first e-friendly cockchugger. Both bands will have to cancel their 2006 summer shows due to a build up of semen in their throats making them sound even less like Morrisey but more like him in the sence that they both have a lot of cum inside them.

Thats what I find shit about this forum. Because the majority here hate NME bands, you all come out and say:
'OOOOOOOOOH, i hate the killers they are gay and shit.'
And so what if there's a topic about an 'NME band'??? There is always a Bloc Party or Joy Division threads, but I don't care. If people like them, why not discuss them with other fans?

There is a serious lack of people who dare to say they think Bjork is toss, the Mars Volta is dreadfully shite, and Bright Eyes is embarrasingly shite. No one will say if they dislike New Order either.

Its easy to see why though. Someone says Oasis are their favourite band, and about a hundred people say, 'Go away cunt'. Someone says British Sea Power are the best band ever and you're all like, 'Yes I see your point, they are incredibly magnificent.'

You should grow up and accept other's opinions on the forum.

Offensive? I have nothing agaisnt people liking them at all. However I find it silly when Bloc Party, Joy Division/New Order, Interpol, BSP fans come on saying how shit Razorlight are and saying how people that like them are cunts.

I find it "silly" how people who don't know shit about music come on here condemning amazing bands because they are stereotypically 'intellectual'. Why do you think Joy Division are intellectual exactly?

Razorlight are fucking shit, and I should know I stood through over an hour of them a couple of weeks ago.

Heard Lyla last night, which is also shit. I really like Def/Maybe and Whats the Story, but lets be realistic, pretty much everything after that has been utterly shit.

The Vines are also poor. I don't hate them but they're dull.

Don't even get me started on fucking Kasabian. They're just not intellectual enough for me I guess.

I wouldn't really mind if you said: 'I think' before your comments Mr fa. Who's to say Razorlight ARE shit. Its fully subjective. Also, did the fact that thousands of other people thought Razorlight's gig was brilliant?

The problem I have, is the fact nobody else sticks up for bands like Razorlight and Kasabian. There are loads of people who like them on here. They are, for some reason, too spineless to get involved in arguments, because they get shouted down by Bloc Party fans.

Well I'm not to fussed on New Order. Not really heard enough Bjork to hold an opinion. I find Mars Volta a bit boring, tho they do have their moments. Oasis are cunt. British Sea Power are 'incredibly magnificent'. Happy now?

The wanky Killers are more tolerable than The Bravery, but that's not really saying much. I've read various interviews with Why The Long Face from The Bravery, and he seems like a total knocker, going on about all the birds they've boned, and other lies.

This 'feud' is an utter nonsene tho. Brandon Flowers needs to tone down his inflated sense of self-importance. Any twat with a cheque book could see that The Bravery would sell records, whether the Killers had ever existed or not.

Oh, and when exactly did Mr Flowers invent the synthesiser? Bell-end!

I agree with you wrighty. Everyone is entitled to like anyone they want (and that means ANYONE, Brainlove). I like the Killers but despise the Bravery and I thought this feud was hilarious thats why I started the thread. I like Razorlight, The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Franz, The Strokes, The Libs and to a lesser extent Kasabian. These are my decisions. They're not aided by NME because when I read NME wanking all over a band, I develop an instant dislike. All these bands above I like after hearing something that changed my mind. While you should be able to discuss your own opinions and argue them with others, I think the idea of saying "NME bands=shite" is a little silly. Calling some of these "intellectual" bands the best thing ever that wipes the floor with all those bands is also silly. Ever wondered why the 80s Matchbox BL Disaster are still only trawling the toilets?

Hmm, not sure i'd agree that BSP or 80's matchbox are really trawling the toilets anymore. In fact bsp are expected to go top ten in the albums chart this week from what i've heard.

At the end of the day everyone is entitled to their own opinion, whether or not a band has been promoted by the NME should not have any significance whatsoever. The important thing is the music; if you really enjoy the music by NME bands or non-NME bands people should respect that. I love the Killers, always have done, always will and there is nothing anyone can say that will make me think otherwise. In a way I kind of agree with wrighty - there is a general condescending attitude against anyone with different preferences "against the flow".

I also think that the personalities/actions/attitudes/appearances of the band members should also not have any bearing on people's personal attitudes towards the bands music. It should be kept in context, with the actual music being judged thouroughly and fairly.

I agree with pretty much al you say...except firstly dont say you'll always love a band, trust me tis not a good idea and you're pretty much cursing the next album if you do.

Secondly while i agree that music needs to be judged fairly, the fact is that you cant escape from the personalities behind the music, and in some case attiudes and actions in particular can be very important. Think of all those far right skinhead bands promoting racism etc, theres a point where you CANT escape such views as being central to the music, and arguably supporting such bands can legitimise their views (i know its an extreme example, but you get where im coming from)

To some extent, although I like their first album and b-sides so much that a "shit" follow-up album would (probably..heh) not affect my feelings towards them as a band, although I would be disappointed.

Your examples there are certainly extreme and I totally agree with you...extreme views like that cannot be tolerated at all and would play a role in one's attitude towards the music. Although realisticly I'm talking about bands such as Razorlight and The Killers and The Bravery (although I'm not a fan of the latter). Johnny Borrel's inflated ego and goofy teeth, whats-his-name from the Bravery's morrisey-style haircut etc etc....

Well said Mcsean. It seems people are embarrased to say if they like 'NME bands'. I don't care what the NME says. For example, they have a 'cool list' and say bright eyes is the new Dylan. I like music if it pleases me, regardless of the NME's worthlesss opinion.

But that was on Popbitch. Hardly the most reliable source of information... Of course, The Bravery really have been holed in some off-Mott Street back-street dive and not practicing in their mommy and daddy's up-state New York mansion, diving into mommy's make-up back when she's not looking. Honestly guv!

All I will say, seriously, on the matter is that it does take time to put a band together with an album's worth of material and The Bravery have some well crafted songs. It's the same story, you get one band making a certain sound from a certain area and then BANG, loads more artists who sound similar and from simialr places get signed and put on the "lets make as much from this as we can before it's over" pedestel.

If anyone deserves the credit for both band's success it's stellstarr*. The Killers got their name whilst touring in support of stellastarr* last year.

Well done people. Actually saying you LIKE the Killers is something new on here! I think their albums great. Good to listen to when you are bored. NME says it gets weaker to the end. I think it just gets stronger throughout until the last track, which is fairly disappointing. Still one of my fave albums of 2004.

I have also seen many people on this forum slagging of the Killers and saying that their "wank indie-teen music". If their music is so directly made for teenagers then why the fuck was I basically the youngest there at the gig in Brixton a couple of months ago?!
