Buffalo Bar, this wednesday 1st f August.

SAM AMANT: This performer will take Goonite's emotions to a cold and dark level. Her music is based on keyboards, drum-machine and a wild voice, and the result is a vehement and ardent electro-rock. Music with balls. For fans of: Suicide, The Pop Group, A.R.E. Weapons and Peaches.

SILENT ALLIANCE: If you visit Silent Alliance's MySpace profile, they are describing themselves with these lines: "we are full of win and awesome". I simply can't help myself but agree 100% with them. This is good music born to the stardom, and if they don't make to the mainstream, this world will be even more unfair than it currently is. For fans of The Killers, New Order and The Cure. www.myspace.com/silentalliance

STAGECOACH: Infectious blend of acoustic guitar and rock sounds. They have been playing the London circuit for a while, appearing at venues such as Luminaire, Windmill, Water Rats and others. Radio indie guru Steve Lamacq has played Stagecoach on his National BBC show. This band is for fans of Wilco, The Shins and Elliott Smith. www.myspace.com/stagecoachuk

THE STANDARDS: I try not to be overwhelmed and over enthusiastic and not to write that these guys are the greatest band in the UK right now, but actually there's nothing I can do to repress this feeling. The Standards is the greatest band in the UK right now and I simply don't understand why they have this name. If you go to their MySpace page or see them playing live at Goonite Club, your opinion will not be much different from mine. For fans of: The Coral, The Byrds and The Doors. www.myspace.com/thestandardsmusic
