Decemberists 'The Crane Wife' VS TV On The Radio 'Return To Cookie Mountain'

"Return to Cookie Mountain" definitely.
I've not actually heard either album but it's got the word "cookie" in the title and I like cookies so it must be good.

Return To Cookie Monster Witch Mountain
I would say
Crane Wife becuase I'm a big fan of melody which Decemberists have in abundance! However both of these are winners even if Cookie Mountain takes a lot of listens...

Decemberists defo - saw them live supporting Cake a few years back and they were great.

Was my favourite album of last year, especially after seeing them live. Both are amazing though. Get both!

It really depends what your after.
TV on the radio are a little more groundbreaking and i love some of the sounds on that album.
The Crane Wife - it ain't no Picaresque or Her majesty lets put it that way.
I vote TVOTR - it also has a special place in my heart cos i once listened to the whole thing whilst in a traffic jam in the centre of bangkok after an 18 hour bus journey

Tv on the radio sound like the cacophonous wail of a end of the world party where you meet the only person you have truly ever loved and they tell you that they miss you and they want you to come home
the decemberists album sounds like Amy Macdonald, backed by the levellers, disappointedly reading out a shopping list of things she couldn't get out of waitrose
