Saw the trailer for it today on IMDB and although i was initially put off by the fact its a Will Smith film, it actually looks like it could be pretty good. Anyone read the book by Richard Matheson, and is it worth reading?

NO

i've read it

it's very good. can't imagine will smith being particularly well suited to the role

Vincent Price and Charlton Heston have both tackled the role

Were they suited? Ive only seen The Omega Man which was so-so.

heislegend

book is amazing

it will be SHIT

The book is mint

and one if its best parts is the ending, and i will be shocked if they keep the same ending into the film. I hope it will be good...but im not getting my hopes up.

The book is brilliant

Omega Man was shit, the new film will probably be very shit.

The book is very ace

not too sure how the film will be. It could be ok although I don't think Will Smith is right for the lead.

I like Will Smith

sorry.

^ me too

I swear he always gets really unfairly slated.

I like the book

it conjures up a nice sense of eerie isolation, but the end seems a bit abrupt almost.

not entirely sure how well the film would work. wish they'd kept it set in LA, though I see why they've plumped for New York instead.

Basically, I'm not that sure on the film. I shall 'wait and see'.

I read somewhere

that they're keeping the ending the same as the book, and the trailer looks brilliant, 28 Days Later with a bigger budget, and Will Smith's got quite decent lately, he was excellent in The Pursuit Of Happyness. I think this'll be really good.

this looks quite good.

Think I'll read the book first. Sounds very similar to 'Cell' by Stephen King in the apocalyptic sense.

The book is awesome.

The film MUST be faithful to it

well it's not

so there.

well then

I might suicide bomb the world

i request a short synopsis please

is it like the omega man as people have mentioned above?

i really like the omega man :s
