Her what used to get road rage all the time on national telly, Cerys Matthews, is to follow in the footsteps of similarly high-profile act Super Furry Animals and release a Welsh language record.

Awyren = Aeroplane, a four-track EP, is set for release via My Kung Fu on October 15. The first new material from the former Catatonia singer since last year's Never Say Goodbye LP, of the EP Matthews commented:

"This is my first EP since Catatonia's first EPs in 1993 and it is extra special as it's my first ever Welsh language only release and because it's being released on My Kung Fu, a label based in Cardiff, where I was born."

Matthews is set to tour in November, too. Dates:

November
5 Cardigan Theatr Mwldan
6 Aberystwyth The Arts Centre
7 Pontypridd Muni Arts Centre
9 Monmouth Blake Theatre
10 Newtown Theatr Hafren
11 Swansea Grand Theatre

in retrospect

large parts of the album International Velvet deserve to be declared 'fucking well good'

*face

No?

I want that.

I want it bad.

You can pre-order it now

on www.sebon.co.uk for £5.50 and that comes with free postage as well.

:-)

The snippets of her old songs

where she sings briefly in Welsh are really good.
I love Cerys.

The headline is misleading.

It's an EP, not an album, as the story makes clear.

YAY!!!!

Which show shall I go to?!
