Hot on the heels of the announcements that Agent Blue and yourcodenameis:milo have both decided to call it a day comes the news that two more DiS favourites of recent times have also packed it in.
London progressive rock experimentalists twentysixfeet - whose Two Hours Of Passionless Tango album is admired by several DiS writers; they also played our March DiScover Club - are no more. The band posted this on their MySpace blog:
This just a short one to say that we're splitting up.
There's no defining reason and it’s not in any way acrimonious; it's just run its course.
We'd like to thank everyone who has played any part in our shenanigans over the years and wish you all the best.
Catch you in the future and all that crap.
Ta ra.

Meanwhile, Leicester five-piece redcarsgofaster (pictured) have also announced they're splitting. Their final show will be at the Charlotte in their hometown on Saturday September 8th, with support from Rotary Ten and Tired Irie.
There will also be a posthumous album featuring nine recordings both old and new, including three previously unreleased songs. The record will be available at the gig or via the band's MySpace here.
The full tracklisting is as follows:
'Demagogues' (previously unreleased)
'Open/shut' (compilation version)
'House of Flies' (High Voltage 7")
'I Am The Storm' (High Voltage 7")
'The Punchline' (previously unreleased)
'Neurath's Figure' (new recording of an old demo)
'The Pragmatists' (new recording; old demo was on a Dance To The Radio compilation)
'24 Passes' (High Voltage 7")
'Hammer Into Anvil' (previously unreleased)
Guitarist Matt Bolton has written a very poignant epitaph here, which explains the band's reasons for calling it a day.

sad
face
I saw redcars
at the Summer Sundae last year. They were ace. What a shame.
Twenty Six Feet
Were indeed a lovely band and lovely chaps.... we in Vessels shall miss them dearly....
Great epitaph from Redcars!

tiernan, are you coming to the charlotte gig?
Album
What sad news, the Pragmatist is my current ringtone, confuses people when it rings.
When can I get my grubby hands on this album?
you can get one by
emailing david at redcarsgofaster[dot]info[at]googlemail[dot]com
it's your ringtone?
that's ridiculous.
thanks for the support everyone.
big, big shame
tsf have been a huge fave of mine for a couple of years now. live, they were monsters, and their new songs were really starting to get scary.
curious to see what they all end up doing.
oh, and never really cared much for redcars, but...
that blog on why they've split is absolutely spot on. should send a chill of recognition down the spine of everyone who's ever been in a band.
IMPORTANT
the last redcars gig is UPSTAIRS at the charlotte.
i think you have to specify when you go in.
