Japanese post-rock four-piece Mono are to release an album of hard-to-find tracks next month, entitled Gone.
Released in the US via Temporary Residence - we've no details regarding a domestic release as yet - on September 11, Gone collects out-of-print non-LP tracks in chronological order. 'Finlandia' opens, 'Little Boy (1945 - Future)' closes; between, some really good instrumental music.
Tracklisting:
'Finlandia'
'Black Woods'
'Yearning'
'Memorie Dal Futoro'
'Due Foglie, Una Candela: Il Soffio Del Vento'
'Since I've Been Waiting For You'
'Gone'
'Black Rain'
'Rainbow'
'Little Boy (1945 - Future)'
The title track can be downloaded right now from here. Mono are on tour in the US with metallers High on Fire throughout the autumn, and more information on their movements can be found on MySpace, here.

f'in weird
i was just on their site before clicking on DiS.
Gone is probably the most beautiful (maybe even best?) piece of instrumental music ive heard since arvo part's spiegel im spiegel.
DVD
to follow, but only available on the tour.
They will be touring in the UK before the year is out, but not many dates. We tried to book them in Reading or Oxford but to no avail :(
one of my top three
albums of the year, good on first listen and just gets better and better
I have a spare ticket for one of the San Francisco shows if anyone's interested :)
