Lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely. This album's absolutely blown me away...it's so, so beautiful, really dark and one of the saddest things I've ever heard. It's got plenty of the Flashlight Seasons-esque plaintive folk, like Song Among The Pine, but the title track sounds like a Morricone instrumental, Trust channels Galaxie 500 and Farewell, Farewell is full on shoegaze.

I <3 Gravenhurst.

You have a leaked copy I

assume? Read the review in Time Out this week and with what you've said I am now anticipating this being one of the albums of the year!

He's done loads of albums in a short space of time

hasn't he?

I remember getting Flashlight Seasons a couple of years ago on promo and loving it.

Haven't listened to any of his stuff since though.

...

I've got the album on preorder from Warp, but I got a little bit impatient and found a site that's hosting a d/l of it; the first time I've ever illegally d/l anything, which says a lot about my anticipation for this album. He released two albums and an EP all within the space of a little over 12 months, but it's been nearly 2 years since his last album now. It's more than worth the wait - if you've only heard Flashlight... he's since expanded into a full band set-up and incorporated elements of post rock, kraut rock, shoegaze.

sounds good...

It's better than that

in my top 10 of the year fo' sure. I've been listening to it all afternoon and it's a heartbreaking album.

enjoyed them

at glasto in the new field but they sounded very different to on-record. prefer the creepy sounding lp sound.
